Reporter: Thank you for giving us your time for this interview and allowing me this opportunity. I am from the newspaper Arab News.

Reporter: Arab News is one of the most important English-language dailies published in the Middle East. And it is the widest read English-language papers, not just in the Middle East but also in Arabia.

Reporter: Mr. Yahya, you are very well-known internationally. And you are a researcher. You have books and documentaries and these are greatly enjoyed and renowned all across the whole world. And your work has had a profound impact on many people. Could you first tell us who Harun Yahya is, how he began his work and what his fundamental objectives are? What is your story? 

ADNAN OKTAR: I was born in Ankara on 2 February, 1956. I have finished my primary and secondary school and high school education in Ankara. My years of youth has passed in that city. Then I studied in Istanbul University and the Fındıklı Academy of Fine Arts. I was at the Fındıklı Academy of Fine Arts from 1979 to 1983. After 1983 I transferred to the Istanbul University Department of Philosophy. I studied there, too. But because the anarchy and terror at the time were so intense I left half-way through. That was for the best. I was able to devote myself to my books. 

I have more than 300 books to my name, translated into more than 60 languages. They represent a total of some 45,000 pages, masha’Allah. For instance, 80 million of my books have been downloaded in a year. Actually , my books are really in demand, masha’Allah. 

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes. My objective is Allah’s approval. What else could it be? A Muslim’s sole aim is Allah’s approval. Forming a Turkish-Islamic Union under Turkish leadership, the well-being of Muslims, world peace, an end to terror and anarchy, happiness and joy everywhere, increasing the level of well-being, and helping art and beauty cover everywhere, all for the approval of Allah.   As a result, if we earn Allah’s approval, then insha’Allah he will reward us with paradise. That is a believer’s objective – Allah’s approval alone.

Reporter: When did you found the Science Research Foundation (BAV)? What are the contents of the activities of your foundation? What kind of work do you do? Do you receive any information and advice from any specific individuals or organizations within an Islamic framework? What happens when you need help in that context? How does the foundation come by its financial resources? How does the foundation function? Do you have any links to any international or other organizations as you carry out this work?  

ADNAN OKTAR: I am the honorary president of the BAV. I have no direct link to the foundation. To say the truth, I am only watching the activities from a distance since I am honorary president. I am more concerned with the works of Harun Yahya, with those works and books. 

More or less along the lines I have described, the foundation is conservative, ethical and religious, and aims for the establishment of a Turkish-Islamic Union, peace for all humanity, love and respect. But my book-writing activities are independent from the foundation, of course. The books are published under the name of Harun Yahya; they are under my control and express my ideas. That work is highly successful, both over the internet and in the hard copy world. The best person to ask about the foundation’s activities is its president. I will introduce you to my colleague Sedat Altan, who will give you full details. But I can give you all kinds of detailed information about Harun Yahya. 

Reporter: Your books about Freemasonry have attracted great interest and have led to considerable debates. You have been arrested and put on trial for what you said about Freemasonry. Do you think that the Zionists are playing an influential role behind the Palestinian-Israeli problem? The Masons and Zionists are also very powerful in the USA; do you think they have directed certain events there behind the scenes?

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes. The Masons have set up a global state, a secret global state. There is a large group in that made up of Jews who are actually atheist Zionists who do not believe in Allah. They are generally at the head of Masonic lodges. Masonry wants to rule the world according to its own ideas. The Masons lie behind all the world’s disasters, atheistic activities, materialist activities and Marxist-Leninist terror. The Masons generally receive their instructions from Satan. They are in direct contact with him. They say them themselves in their own books. They describe in detail how they make contact with Satan in their own magazines. They do not deny nor conceal this. 

The most effective response to this will of course be to eliminate the influence of their religion. And that religion is Darwinism. Because I have demolished Darwinism in a very powerful way in Europe and the rest of the world, the Masons are currently literally in a state of shock. And they are using all their power to take revenge on my colleagues and me. They carry out many totally irrational actions. And are still doing so. Some of these actions are covert and others out in the open, but they do not wear me down. They will not wear me down at all. I am struggling against Darwinism with all my might. I am struggling against materialism. And I try to tell people of the faith in its best form, by describing the truths of the Qur’an and the Sunna of our Prophet.

Reporter: I have already said that your work has an enormous influence. And that work has led to your being subjected to a psychological warfare campaign throughout your life. And you are also struggling with that. Looking at your services to Islam, your modern Islamic activities, and your contribution to contemporary Islamic science, I certainly believe you deserve an award from scientific circles. I think the International King Faisal prize should be given to you and your foundation by the Turkish Selection Board. Because you have shown everyone that Islam can also be evaluated scientifically.

ADNAN OKTAR: I would be honored if something happens of that sort. That would be very pleasant.

Reporter: Of course, someone on the selection board would have to make an effort and introduce you. 

ADNAN OKTAR: Insha’Allah. I hope it would happen insha’Allah.

Reporter: You know about the recent relations between Turkey and Israel. There is a major rapprochement between the two countries. What is your view of that? As you know, Palestinian Muslims are being slaughtered by the Israelis. Hundreds of them have been killed. How do you regard Turkey’s policy toward the Israeli-Palestinian problem in recent years in that context? How do you think the Palestinian problem can be resolved? And what could one call and how could one interpret the recent comments and suggested solution from King Abdullah?  

ADNAN OKTAR: The solution to the Israel-Palestine problem is clearly and obviously the Turkish-Islamic Union. When a powerful Turkish-Islamic Union supported by the Turkic states under Turkish leadership is established, it will represent a global superpower, a giant security umbrella. Under that umbrella, both Israel and Palestine will be able to relax, and the problem will be completely resolved. Those security walls will be torn down. Because at the moment Israel has turned into a prison. It is a prison both for the Palestinians and for the Israelis. That will be eliminated, and everyone will live together in peace and prosperity. 

But at the moment, the atheist Zionists in Israel have totally infiltrated the state. In other words, the Israeli deep state consists of atheist Zionists. That leads to all kinds of strife and corruption. The problem will probably be resolved when the management falls into the hands of Muslim Jews, in other words of devout Jews, their faith being a very ancient form of Islam that was subsequently corrupted. Because the problem stems from the atheist Zionists. There would be no such problem if there were devout Jews there.

Reporter: I would like to learn your views on Turkey’s policy toward Israel. What do you think of the support Turkey gives Israel and what do you think of the solution proposed by Saudi Arabia? About King Abdullah’s proposal?

ADNAN OKTAR: There is a profound love for Palestine in Turkey. Because the Palestinians are our brothers. They are devout believers and have experienced serious sufferings. They have suffered a great deal. Everyone in Turkey supports Palestine. Left and right, everyone is on the side of Palestine. 

But there can be no questions of any rift with Israel. Because the Israeli people are guiltless. The administration is guilty. The atheist Zionists in the administration. That is where the problem comes from. Otherwise the people of Israel are normal, innocent people. Left to their own devices they have always lived in peace and brotherhood, in Ottoman times and the days of the Prophet (saas). But we must oppose the atheist Zionist Israeli deep state. The Turkish government are aware of that. The Turkish Army is aware. But we have no intention of turning against the Israeli people. But the solution will come with the Turkish-Islamic Union. The matter will then be totally resolved. The Israeli deep state will no longer be in the equation. The Masonic Israeli deep state, under Masonic control, will lose all influence only with the Turkish-Islamic Union.

The same goes for the king’s solution. The best solution is an Islamic Union under Turkish leadership. Otherwise, I am not considering any complex or detailed solution. Mine is a very simple and easy one. The simple and easy solution will come about when the region is completely unified, when the customs tariff question is resolved, when passport requirements are lifted, when brothers embrace one another and air of love and friendship prevails. I do not think that any complicated solutions will bear any fruit. But we must not, of course, ignore the king’s proposal. 

Reporter: As you know, Turkey has recently been working very hard and doing a great deal to earn full European Union membership. Will Turkey lose its Islamic identity when it joins the EU? Is there a danger here? As you know, the death penalty has been debated and abolished for the sake of EU membership. And do you think that Turkey can be a member of the EU? What are your views on this? 

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course. Joining the EU is an excellent idea, an excellent aim. I also want Turkey to join the EU. But as the leader of the Turkish-Islamic Union, as great Turkey, as a super power. When that happens, Europe will enjoy an economic, material and spiritual regeneration and will become very powerful. That will bring good health with it and also make a huge contribution to the economy of the Turkish-Islamic world. But for Turkey to enter the EU in its present state looks like it will bring with it nothing but loss. Because they want the South-East of Turkey, they want Cyprus and they want Istanbul. They are talking about a system that will destroy Turkey. This is therefore a system that will also destroy all spirituality in it. That kind of an EU is naturally out of the question. Even a child would laugh at that. These are all very indecent proposals, but if Turkey joins as the leader of the Turkish-Islamic Union, that will be a very honorable, grandiose, excellent and wealthy way of entering. In that event, Islam will have spread to Europe. All Europe will be profoundly influenced by Islam. The EU can have an important effect on the Islamic belief in Turkey. It can only cause it to grow and strengthen. Because technological progress, advances in the internet and scientific advances of all kinds represent a huge opportunity for Islam to grow. These are things that have actually been created for the development of Islam. They are means that have been specially created by Allah in order for the moral values of the Qur’an to prevail.

Reporter: But in order to join the EU, Turkey has to make a lot of legal adjustments that the union has imposed as preconditions. It has to adapt to them. For example, Turkey abolished the death penalty for the sake of EU membership. Does that example alone not impinge on Turkey’s Islamic identity? 

ADNAN OKTAR: If Turkey enters the EU as a superstate such impositions will not affect it. These impositions stem from Turkey being regarded as weak. There will be no such question if Turkey joins the EU as a super power.

Reporter: What do you think the future of political parties based on Islam in Turkey will be? How do you regard the recent tension between the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Turkey and the Army? On what basis are the Islamic parties in Turkey following their policies? How should we be looking at the development and prosperity policies proposed by these parties?

ADNAN OKTAR: Apart from the socialist parties, all the political parties in Turkey are on the side of Islamic and Qur’anic moral values. Even Deniz Baykal, head of the [opposition] Republican People’s Party (CHP) takes his grandsons to the mosque. He prays and wants them to learn Qur’anic moral values. The right-wing parties in Turkey all enthusiastically espouse Islam and the Qur’an. 

Our armed forces are also highly respectful of Islam. They are full of love. Have you seen how at the funeral services for members of the armed forces who have fallen on active service [martyrs] almost all the soldiers take part in the prayers. They constantly call on Allah. Our army has been a devout one for a long time. But of course they are also enlightened and forward-looking. They are opposed to backwardness and conservatism. But they have a deep respect for Islam and the Qur’an. And they put that into action. All the heads of the armed force join in the prayers. And they perform the namaz in full compliance with the Sunna. We take care for the clearly seen signs and this is a sign. A sign of Islam and a sign of faith. That is why I am very optimistic for Turkey. Progress is very good. Turkey is making rapid progress toward leadership of the Turkish-Islamic Union. Islamic countries are very much in favor. And also the Turkic states. I believe this union will come about in the next 10 years, insha’Allah. 

Reporter: Turkey is the only Muslim country in which women are not permitted to wear the headscarf in official institutions and buildings. What is your view of that? Why is that so in Turkey and why do people not protest against being unable to enjoy that right, and why are there no mass protests? Do you think the materialist world system, the capitalist world order, has damaged Turkey’s Islamic identity?

ADNAN OKTAR: The Turkish people are very religious. People generally wear the headscarf. It is used all over Anatolia. Young girls study wearing the headscarf. But it is true there is a ban in official departments and schools. But that is a decision of the Constitutional Court. It would be wrong to see it as a decision of the whole Turkish nation. It is applied because the Constitutional Court so ruled. But there is no reason why the Constitutional Court should always hold that view. May be a different ruling on the contrary could emerge in the future. Who knows?

Reporter: You work very hard to invalidate Darwinism and the theory of evolution. You have done a lot of work in that field. Could you tell us something about your fundamental findings? And what is your view of the idea known as “intelligent design” in the West.

ADNAN OKTAR: I can safely say we are the only force engaged in demolishing Darwinism. We have really demolished Darwinism. That is clear. People were unaware of the existence of 100 million fossils. I was the first to bring them out. There are 100 million fossils that prove creation. Secondly, there are no intermediate forms of the kind claimed by Darwin. They have not a single fossil able to confirm Darwinism, not one intermediate form fossil. Darwin says that himself. He says, if no intermediate form fossils are found, my theory would be invalidated. And what he said has happened. No intermediate fossils have been found. Darwin says there should be millions of intermediate fossils. But not one has ever been found let alone millions. Therefore, as Darwin says, his theory is wrong.

In addition, it is impossible for a protein to form by chance. Scientifically impossible. Think of a number with 950 zeros. The chances are 1 in a 1 followed by 950 zeroes possibility. That is the chance of a protein forming spontaneously. In practical terms, that means zero. And even if such a protein did form, a second and then a third and thousands of proteins would have to attach onto it. But even then it would only form a protein block, similar to a soap, and even thet it  would not come to life. It has to become a living cell. That means Darwinism has collapsed right from the outset. It is a complete fraud.

In addition, I have described all the hoax skulls they have used, one by one. I have exposed all their false evidence.

And Darwinism is unable to account for sight. It is unable to explain who does the seeing in the brain. It is unable to explain who does thethe hearing in the brain. Who is it who feels a sensation of touch when we touch something? Who smells a scent? It cannot explain that. 

Darwinism is literally paralyzed. It fell apart without even being touched. It is a rotten theory. A theory adorned with lies. A theory that explains everything in terms of chance. But this idea of intelligent design is very dishonest. Because it is clear that Allah created. They should say that He created everything. But they don’t. They say that Something created, but a Power, a power we do not know. That is plain sophistry and totally dishonest. Why talk of an unknown power instead of Allah? That is very wrong. I made it possible for Darwinism to be demolished, thanks be to Allah. We can see that in the European press. The global press has carried thousands of such reports. They all agree that Darwinism has collapsed. The opinion polls show it. The world has no need of those intelligent designers. Let me give some poll findings. My Atlas of Creation book had a profound effect after being distributed in Europe. Let me cite the results. There is daily “Die Welt,” Belgium’s “De Morgen,” the Danish paper “Extra Bladet,” the Swiss magazine “Faktum,” “ the French science web site “Science Actualités” and the German daily “Süddeutsche Zeitung.” Their polls show that between 85% and 90% of people no longer believe in evolution, in Darwinism. That is a severe blow for Europe.

Masha’Allah. Let me cite a few instances from the press. France’s “La Libération” said that I had caused panic in Europe in a single move, in whole Europe. Again in France, “Le Point” said Save Darwin. Darwin is finished, but come and rescue him. “20 Minutes” in France said they had been invaded in February. Germany’s “Spiegel” said that Muslims had mobilized against Darwin. Again in Germany, “Kölner Stadtanzeiger” said that Adnan Oktar’ is one of the most effective proponents of the anti-evolution movement. Germany’s “Stern”: spoke of a book exploding like thunder. “Nürnberger Zeitung” said that Darwin’s job is hard in Europe., while “Die Welt” said the Education Ministry was gravely concerned. 

There have been thousands of reports. All along those lines. There is a real panic in Europe. There have been thousands of newspaper reports in Europe saying that Darwinism has collapsed.

Reporter: Masha’Allah..  As you know, the world is experiencing an economic crisis. What do you think its causes are? Can we overcome it with an Islamic economy? What are your thoughts on that? Can we say that this is the end of Capitalism?

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, this actually indicates the end of capitalism. This something that we were told in the time of our Prophet (saas) would happen in the age of the Mahdi. Our Prophet (saas) personally spoke of this. It is one of the portents of the coming of the Mahdi. 

·      Such economic collapse

·      The Iran-Iraq War

·      The occupation of Afghanistan

·      The severing of the waters of the Euphrates

·      Lunar and solar eclipses 15 days apart in the month of Ramadan

·      The birth of a comet

·      An attack on the Kaaba and bloodshed at the Kaaba. That happened in the year 1400 (hegira calendar) as you know.

·      A sign in the Sun. The greatest Sunburst this century took place.

·      A corruption of smoke and dust – there was devastation of smoke and dust in the September 11 attacks.

·      People loosing hope about the coming of the Mahdi; there had also been lots of reports on this regard.

·      The disappearance of an army – the Iraqi army vanished in the desert, for the first time. Such things hardly happen in the world. 

·      Baghdad being destroyed in flames.

·      Sanctions against Iraq and Damascus.

·      The reconstruction of Iraq.

·      Chaos in Damascus, Iraq and Arabia.

These are all portents of the coming of the Mahdi. They have all taken place. Then, in the time of the Mahdi, there will be an age of huge abundance and well-being. This is also set out in the accounts. The Prophet (saas) has clearly stated that people will speak of economic troubles in the markets. But then he says that there will be an age of great abundance in the time of the Mahdi, that everything will come to a peak with the appearance of the Prophet Jesus, that the world will live in peace and brotherhood, that people will rejoice and be amazed at all the plenty and abundance. 

We are headed toward that time. This period will be overcome once Muslims unite. Life will be happy and joyful in the time of the Mahdi.

Reporter: You said in one of your books that the September 11 attacks would change the course of world history, and you underlined what a significant event that was. How do you think will September 11 affect the situation of Islam on earth? As you know, after September 11 the USA attacked several Muslim countries. What was the power behind September 11, in your eyes?

ADNAN OKTAR: The Atheist Zionists and Masons were behind September 11. They are the ones who organized it. They carried it out using Marxist terrorists and Darwinists, with a wide-ranging campaign. However the realization of such events, the events of September 11, as I have just said, and all the events that took place after September 11, the invasion of Afghanistan and occupation of Iraq are all events described in detail by our Prophet (saas) as portents of the coming of the Mahdi. Our Prophet (saas) described them all in detail, 1400 years ago. They have all happened within 20-30 years. That is another miracle. For instance, Afghanistan has been occupied on different occasions in history, but this is the first time all these things have happened together. This is the first time the things I have listed, the portents of the coming of the Mahdi, have all happened within 20-30 years. This is a great miracle that will stun the world. The miracles of our Prophet (saas) are continuing after his death.

Reporter: You have proposed the foundation of a Turkish-Islamic Union. How will this be possible? There are wars going on between Muslim states, and the world is not in a particularly bright position, with terrorism and wars still continuing. Do you think enemies and opposed groups will let this go ahead? Under what conditions can this union be established?

ADNAN OKTAR: The Islamic Union is a system that embraces all the countries of the world, that looks with affection on them all, that doesn’t see the ones around as enemies and that even forgives the actual enemies and makes friends out of them. Thus, a system like this will have no enemies. Because this system is not an enemy for any country, and hence no country will be inimical toward it. The Turkish-Islamic Union will be founded with the aim of bringing peace, brotherhood, comfort and love to the world. The infrastructure of this is now ready. Because all Islamic countries want an Islamic Union. If an opinion poll were held in Islamic countries, we would see that 99% or 95% of people want an Islamic Union. We would see the same thing in the Turkic states. If we polled people in the Turkic states they would all want a Turkish-Islamic Union, as we see. I have witnessed that myself. That is why people want it. All that remains is for high-ranking politicians to be convinced and encouraged. That is possible at any moment. At this time of economic collapse, these ideas have been put forward; let us establish a Customs Union, a common currency and a common market. That means the infrastructure for the Turkish-Islamic Union is ready. This belief, these ideas, can quickly be agreed. It can be brought about in a good way. Because the system regards no country as an enemy.

Reporter: Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah has called for dialogue to establish world peace. What needs to be done for the king’s call to be made a reality? Did you attend the conference in Madrid? 

ADNAN OKTAR: No, I did not. But King Abdullah has made very honest, excellent initiatives. I like and respect him very much. I also respect his ideas. He is very scrupulous when it comes to Islam and the Qur’an. He really strives for peace and brotherhood. Insha’Allah, these initiatives will bear fruit. But, let me make it clear, there will be no peace or ease in the Islamic world until the coming of the Mahdi. That peace and comfort will come after the appearance of the Mahdi and the Prophet Jesus. Let me make that clear, it is the truth of the matter.

Reporter: Do you have any plans to produce a translation in commentary of the Qur’an in English in a scientific manner? There is a lack of Islamic movies, are you thinking of producing movies? What are your other future projects?

ADNAN OKTAR: Well, of course, it is essential for the Qur’an, for all kinds of information about the Qur’an and the Sunna of our Prophet (saas) to be translated into English and described to all of Europe in English. We are trying to do that to the best of our ability. As much as possible of such work can be found on the web sites www.harunyahya.net, www.harunyahya.org and www.harunyahya.com. But  of course we see it as not enough. Insha’Allah we will improve it. As you say, producing films and activities in the virtual field are all excellent methods of explaining Islamic moral values. Comprehensive activity in that sphere must be both encouraged, and there must be proper planning which must then be put into action.

Reporter: Have you personally any significant plans to translate the entire Qur’an, to publish a scientific commentary in English or to produce these Islamic films we have been discussing? 

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, I have. These are activities that require a great deal of time and material resources. The more such resources Allah gives us, the more our strength grows in that respect, insha’Allah. Insha’Allah we shall acquire even more resources. And then obtain even better results.

Reporter: Those opposed to and the enemies of Islam openly support this idea. They claim that the Qur’an causes and supports terror and violence. What do you say to such claims?

ADNAN OKTAR: Looked at from that perspective, Marx’s books do that, too. And the works of Lenin. And many Satanist works. We need to look for such events in such books. Islam is a religion of peace, its very name comes from the word “peace.” Islam is a religion that espouses affection, compassion, forgiveness and brotherhood. It even espouses forgiveness in the event of a murder, forgiveness of a killer. “It is better for you to forgive,” says Allah in the Qur’an. Only atheist Zionists and Freemasons can maintain that there is any link between such a faith and terror. They are describing their own dark, internal world. People who have not received the light, the radiance of Islam, may be evaluating the Islam and the Qur’an through their own dark glasses. But that is unimportant. Islam is a faith of radiance and light and beauty. It is a religion of love. They will realize that sooner or later. 

Reporter: Some thinkers have suggested that Islamic intellectuals such as Seyyid Kutub or Ebul Ala Mevdudi support terror and are responsible for violence and terrorist actions. What do you think about that? Could these thinkers and other modes of Islamic thought ever have such a potential? How would you defend this issue?

ADNAN OKTAR: I have read Mevdudi’s and Seyyid Kutub’s books. They are genuine Muslims who describe Islam with joy and love. I have never come across anything about terror or hurting anyone in them. I guess they have not read their books all that carefully. It would be a good thing for them to read them again, but with more care. 

Reporter: In a recent debate there were claims made that you have said the Prophet Muhammed is not the last prophet. What is your response to such claims? Why do you think such a claim has been made? 

ADNAN OKTAR: Those who do not welcome the return of the Prophet Jesus may have misunderstood the issue. Our prophet (saas) is the last prophet with a holy book, and is the last envoy. No prophet with a holy book will come after him. But the Prophet Jesus will bring no new law. He will come as a member of the community of Islam. He will still bear the title of prophet – because he is a prophet – but he will bring no new holy book. But the person who comes, Jesus, is of course a prophet. In that sense, there can be no reference to anyone other than the Prophet Jesus. Since he will bring no new law when he comes, it is clear that the last prophet with a holy book is our Prophet (saas).

Reporter: That is all I have to ask. Do you have anything else you wish to add?

ADNAN OKTAR: What I would say is this; Islamic moral values will rule the world in 10-20 years, insha’Allah. The Mahdi will appear. The coming of the Prophet Jesus is close at hand. Islam will spread rapidly in Europe, in the USA, in Russia. The whole world will be Muslim. Everyone will see that, insha’Allah. 

For example, after receiving a copy of my Atlas of Creation, Nicholas Sarkozy said: “It is Almighty Allah in everyone’s hearts and thoughts.” There has been an extraordinary change in him since receiving my book. He says: “It is Allah who makes man free, and not a captive. It is Allah who is a bastion against human beings’ boundless pride and madness. It is Allah who constantly sends a message that transcends all differences, of humility and love, of peace and brotherhood, of tolerance and respect.”

Daily Le Monde says; “Nobody expected this much.” French papers were stunned in the wake of Sarkozy’s statement. The press says they were stunned by his statement. Le Monde also said as much. 

Tony Blair, as you know, was a socialist and a Darwinist. He has also completely changed. “Protect religion and help it become a force for good,” he says. In an interview, Tony Blair said he reads the Qur’an in the evenings and has given copies to famous artists.
