In this interview Mr. Adnan Oktar stated his point of view regarding politics and declared that he has stood aloof from it. He had affirmed that he was an author depicting Islam and the unity of Allah. He had stressed on the importance of the unity of the Islamic world, the formation of the great Islamic Union under the leadership of Turkey, Turkey’s halting the anarchy and terror as the super power in the region and on Turkey’s duty to exquisitely protect and watch for the whole Islamic world as their big brother.
Mr.Adnan Oktar had also stated his opinions about the Freemasonry. He had also stated that the Islamic world had a profound intellectual and spiritual support on his works and studies. Mr.Oktar had declared that the moral values of Islam will sway the world in 10-20 years. He had also declared in detail that the Shiites and Sunna discrimination is a Masonic ruse. Mr. Adnan Oktar had stated that Shiites are exquisitely pure, tame, clean and sound Muslims and that the people of Sunna was the same as well. They stated that they have no difference in between them. They all are the people of Kiblah. Mr.Adnan Oktar by the end of the interview had sent his love and effection and greetings to the whole Islamic world.
Journalist: Which of these names is greater or more prominent, Adnan Oktar or Harun Yahya?
Adnan Oktar: As you know, Adn Adnan is the line of our Prophet (saws). Resulullah Sallallahu Aleyhi Vesellem comes from the people of Adnan. But Harun and Yahya, two great prophets, are of course excellent names, but Adn is the name of paradise. The paradises of Adnan are described by Allah in the Qur’an, and this also constitutes the start of the line of our Prophet (saws), the people of Adnan, as I have said before. In fact they all are excellent names.
I have always kept my distance from politics, and Said Nursi also avoided politics. He said that he sought shelter in Allah from Shaytan and politics. I share his view and shelter from Shaytan and politics behind Allah. I am merely an author. A writer who describes Islam and the existence and oneness of Allah.
Journalist: There is no doubt that anyone working in the field of religion, in the field of ideas, in the field of literature, has enormous responsibilities. Turkey now has the problem of politics and religion. Politics has damaged religion, where do you stand in this subject?
Adnan Oktar: I of course favour the separation of religion and politics. That is my view, and I favour the preaching of the faith, preaching and living by Islam, in a laicist system. I think that this can put everyone at ease, because there will be atheists and Jews and Christians in a community. And they have their rights. They are also first-class citizens and there are also different sects. There are Alawites for example, and Jaferis, and they are all our brothers. We feel a profound relation to all of them and can never accept their being wronged in any way. In terms of that denominational distinction I regard Alawites and Jaferis as one, as my brothers. There are also the people of the Book, as stipulated in the Qur’an, they are the people of the Book. They are our brothers and friends. They also have rights and laws. We must live with them in friendship and in bonds of love.
Journalist: History proves that the damage inflicted on Islam did not come from these sects and faiths, but rather from political movements. There were movements that worked against and defamed the Ottoman Empire, and a number of political movements have been opposed to religion. At one time the call to prayer was not even made in Arabic. That is where this harm came from, not from religious denominations. Where do you stand on this?
Adnan Oktar: One needs to look to a direct solution. The solution lies in the whole Islamic world coming together as one, the establishment of a Turkish-Islamic Union under Turkish leadership, Turkey making its presence felt in the region as a super power, the whole Islamic world protecting and looking out for one another as brothers, their growing stronger in political and economic terms, the whole Turkic world, almost all are Muslims, taking them under its protection and also putting an end to terror and anarchy as a regional superpower. To make a giant revolution in civilization and to be in similar efforts to those resembling to the times of Prophet Sulayman; this is the solution.
Journalist: I read your books, and you are doing excellent work against Freemasonry. I attended one of your conferences, and I greatly enjoyed it. Yet there are still rumours about your excellent work against Freemasonry. One hears that such and such a group backs you financially. One does hear such things. Even if it is scarce, there are some cracked voices in this respect. What do you say to them? How can we reply to these=
Adnan Oktar: If we were given financial backing we will certainly not turn it down, as this is an excellent thing, but no such material backing has been provided. It is we who are providing backing for those around us through our own means and earnings. The Science Research Foundation can accept donations, but nobody has to date donated even a single penny. Neither has anyone supported us from abroad. Let me say that we would not reject such a thing, but nothing of the kind has happened even once over the last 20 years.
Journalist: Assistance does not have to be essentially in material, it could be spiritual? This is to say, do you have anone in the same opinion with you, , any extensions in Arab countries or Islamic countries? Do some certain circles, offer you any psychological support, any intellectual support in this activity?
Adnan Oktar: In that sense of course the whole Islamic world provides deep support; that much is clear, because we see the extraordinary phenomenon of 8 million books being downloaded over the internet. That is only possible with Muslim support, comprehensive Muslim support and affection. In that sense of course we receive profound support.
Journalist: The majority in the Islamic world, the Arab world, hold you in deep affection. Especially in Iraq, they hold you in deep affection. Even in Hassa Geylani Tomb, in that mosque, I see row upon row of your books. Many Muslims rejoice at and share your ideas. They rejoice in your work and pray to Allah to help you. But you are presumably aware of how things stand in Iraq. There are those who want to change Iraqi civilisation, religion and everything. Can you make a particular contribution here, to correct this point, to heal this would? What can you do with regard to Iraq?
Adnan Oktar: Even if all the kuffar combine together they can still never alter destiny. The rule of Islam over the world is written in Allah’s destiny. As is the coming of the Mahdi and the return of ‘Isa. Whatever they do, and Allah says in a verse that even if their plots were such as to make mountains vanish Allah’s command will always prevail. The might of Allah is made crystal clear in the Qur’an. The rule of Islam will come about and clearly and thoroughly seen in 10-20 years. I make no secret of that. The occupation of Iraq is an important means whereby this dominion will come about. It has been a means whereby Iraqis have recovered themselves and returned to Allah. It has led them to cind themselves to Islam and the Qur’an with greater joy and to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood between them. Previously, there was a distinction between Sunnis and Shiites. That has now vanished, and they are like one single fist. By God’s leave we will soon see a great Islamic illumination and Islamic moral values will rule the world, inshaAllah.
Journalist: Some people say that Islam will reappear from Turkey. Turkey will assume the leadership of the Islamic awakening and at the end, as we are told in many hadith, there will be war, in between the truth and Judaism, not per se as a religion, but between the truth and denial, and Islam will emerge victorious. And there are hadith about the Jews hiding behind the tree of Garkad. Do you regard that expectation as a correct one?
Adnan Oktar: Even if Godless, atheist Zionists hide behind the tree of Garkad they will still be found and now even the deepest secrets of Freemasonry are exposed. They are exposed wherever they may hide. They are brought out into the public gaze. Masonry is a system that has survived thanks to secrecy. But now it is being totally exposed. Even their most secret meetings are being exposed. They are being dragged out into the open wherever they may be hiding. So they have been forced to expose themselves. They have even had to open up the places where they espouse their abnormal ideas. That is a manifestation of the above revelations.
Journalist: There is much hostility against Ottomans in Iraq. They say they were cruel and occupied and exploited us, they defame the Ottoman times with all kinds of lies, and there are states, neighbouring states, who help that process of defamation along. There are various other unfounded charges, and the Kurds make use of these. They say the Ottomans were bad and this and that, but are you engaged in any activities aimed at overcoming these concerns? We are longing for a project or something, books for instance, in order to alleviate these concerns. Because dreadful rumours and slanders have spread all over Iraq.
Adnan Oktar: Indeed, there is no need to preoccupy oneself with history to that extent, saying there was a massacre here or suffering was inflicted on us there, or that other things were beneficial to us. One needs to look at the wide picture. The whole area was at peace in Ottoman times. In the general sense, though it was not totally without imperfections. Mistakes were made. What is more, I am not saying that the Ottomans will rise up and once again assume the leadership. I am not speaking of the same Ottoman model. The imperfections of and mistakes made by the Ottomans during that time represent useful lessons. These will not be repeated, but better and improved versions will be set in motion. History means experience. Avoiding the mistakes of the past leads to perfection. But everyone is aware of the general peace, the peace in Palestine, during those times. Everyone knows about the peace and well-being in Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria during Ottoman times. They enjoyed wealth and plenty in a climate of peace. Of course there were flaws and mistakes. But it is pointless to bring those up again. We will be entering a most enlightened age. Allah tells us of a wondrous time, like that of the Prophet Sulayman or the Prophet Dhu’lqarnayn. Neither of these received any help or gifts. And may be that is why Allah does not bestow such things on us, either. But Allah bestows strength and opportunities on those who struggle for Islam and the truth. There is no need for any other strength or support. The strength and support granted by Allah are many times more than adequate. And we can see that Allah bestows abundance and opportunity. We experience this as an actual fact. We have continued down our road with no need for any external aid, thanks be to Allah , and that is a miracle, a marvel, a wonder from Him… It is meaningless to think about past things in the Islamic world, the mistakes and errors made. These extend right back to the time of the blessed Ali, in terms of mistaken ways of thinking. We are not going to waste time sitting down and worrying about the Djemel or other cases. Let us rather look to the final state of affairs. Muslim world is in excitement of a glorious enlightenment, the pain and the oppression inflicted on Muslims have enlivened and invigorated them. It has been like a wind stirring up the flames. This has caused the fire of faith to burn and given rise to enormous excitement. The internet, the press and television have allowed Islam to spread in a magnificent manner, setting out all the details of Islam. We are on the threshold of an immaculate Islamic civilisation, so those other distractions are of no interest to us. If we start preoccupying ourselves with history we will never be able to do anything else.
Journalist: What do you think of this problem of Shiite and Sunni, this conflict? This is a terrible thing extending through Iraq. It could even make its way to Turkey…
Adnan Oktar: The Sunni-Shiite division is a Masonic ruse, and is purely artificial. Let me state plainly that anyone falling for this irrational and senseless ruse is an idiot. I do not believe that the kind of person who can fall for that ruse can be a normal Muslim. Shiites are exceedingly pure, clean and sound Muslims. Sunnis are also completely sound, spotless Muslims. There is no difference between them. They are all believers. They are all people of Kiblah. They all believe in Allah and love the same prophet. I enjoy happy and profound relations with them all. Any distinction is artificial. As for my own position, I am a sayyid, descended from the blessed Ali. The blessed Ali is my ancestor, so of course I feel a deep love for him. He was a holy and glorious individual. We must see the goodness and wisdom in everything such individuals have done. We must respect the behaviour of the blessed Aysha and the blessed Ali. We must now leave them to themselves, leave them to Allah. By Allah’s leave, they are all in paradise in the hereafter. We must continue on their path in a spirit of brotherhood. There is no need for especially deep research or inquiry in matters of this kind, since it is the final result that matters. We may not be able to understand all aspects of what Allah has created with His goodness and wisdom. There is no need for us to attempt to understand everything. Our only duty is to abide by the Qur’an and the Sunna.
Journalist: I do not know if you are aware of the situation of the Turkmens in Iraq. They are in a very bad position…Is there any spiritual, intellectual help or support for them being planned? Because they are desperate for spiritual, psychological, intellectual support. What do you think?
Adnan Oktar: We have already held conferences on the subject. I have devoted considerable space to the subject in my works and am still doing so. Since I espouse the idea of the Turkish-Islamic Union I regard the area as a province of ours. I regard as a Turkish province, just like Konya or Tokat. I see no distinction. Mosul and Kirkuk will absolutely take their places inside the Turkish-Islamic Union. And the Turks there are brave hearted and courageous. They are more than enough on their own. Of course today we, Turkey, the Turkish world, the Islamic world, support them with all our heart and soul, inshaAllah. Nothing bad can happen and it won’t happen. Not even an inch of ground will be lost to the ruses of the Freemasons, inshaAllah.
Journalist: Thank you for giving of your time for us. We have now a particular matter, but insaAllah we would also like to know more about you personally, about your ideas and about your books. The entire Iraqi nation, the Islamic world, the Arab world, want this; inshaAllah, you will give us a further opportunity. Thank you very much…
Adnan Oktar: Thank you. My love, respects and greetings to all my Turkmen brothers, my Turkish brothers, and all Muslims there.
Journalist: Not just the Turkmens, but the whole of Iraq, the Arabs in Iraq holds you in deep affection…
Adnan Oktar: I have already extended my greetings to the entire Islamic world, inshaAllah… They are all my friends and brothers… may Allah be pleased.
