Excerpts from Mr. Adnan Oktar's interview on Cay TV, October 22nd, 2009
ADNAN OKTAR: Even though I have explained for many times in regard to my meetings with Israelis and the Rabbis, they claim I said we will bring down Masjid Al-Aqsa and construct the Prophet Solomon’s (as) Masjid in its place. This is in fact very inappropriate wording because that would never happen. Why would Masjid Al-Aqsa be brought down? Masjid Al-Aqsa will remain standing until the Day of Resurrection. Why would it be demolished? There is a vacant area there, it is totally unoccupied and quite wide. The Prophet Solomon’s (as) Masjid could be built there as to its original plan and that would be magnificent. Sanctuaries of other prophets like the Prophet Abraham (as) and the lands where he wandered as well as of the prophets Ishmael, Isaac and Jacob ought to be flourished as well. Mosques may possibly be constructed there and if there is any specific location where one of the prophets has performed prayers, a masjid should be built there. That site is to be a masjid because if it is definite that the Prophet has prayed there, then that place is decreed to be a masjid. And there are old masjids that have gone to ruins, these will be rebuilt. We, of course are volunteering to do so, by Allah’s will, we are aspired to do this and one of the first things to carry out when Turkish-Islamic Union is established will be to rebuild the Prophet Solomon’s (as) Masjid.
PRESENTER: Insha’Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: This is a distortion and a very unconscientious one, isn’t it? Would I ever say let us brought it down?...
Masjid Al-Aqsa is divine light and it will remain standing until the Day of Resurrection. There is a vacant, wide area there. And it is a requirement of religion to rebuild all the Masjids that have gone to ruins. If the Prophet Solomon’s (as) Masjid was destroyed, rebuilding it is a task for Muslims. So we will certainly realize this and do so as soon as possible. I said we would complete this in one year, but in fact it will not take that long. If they give us the opportunity, I would have the construction completed in two to three months, maximum in three months and in the most splendid way, by Allah’s leave. Yet we may require a certain period of time to make it more durable, this is to be deliberated with engineers and architects, Insha’Allah.
That is not the only one. The land that Prophet Abraham (as) has wandered around. The Saudi government is carrying out certain constructions today. The other day I saw one photograph of the Kaaba and was startled to notice that the area was filled with skyscrapers. Do they not have any other location to erect skyscrapers? These should be pulled 50 km away. Why are the localities where the Prophet (saas) wandered under cover? Those lands should be turned into gardens and orchards and there should be vast masjids as well. The metropolis is to be pulled back and built there. I mean why is there a need to do this? They have needlessly closed down those historical buildings and many others. They made a great mistake, but of course this is not something impossible to correct. It is true they have caused great expenses costing both time and money, but waste is forbidden in religion. I should note that we will restore it to its earlier status.
Those places will attain their original form, because they have crowded Kaaba so much that it is left in the middle. Just imagine an area of that bound is entirely crammed, but is this acceptable? Pull back the city to the sides. That land is wide and colossal, nevertheless this error will also be corrected during the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as). We will also help as a vanguard of Hazrat Mahdi (as), Insha’Allah.
PRESENTER: Insha’Allah.
