The physical characteristics of Hazrat Mahdi (as)

ADNAN OKTAR: "Humran ibn A'yan says: Imam Muhammad Bakr said Hazrat Mahdi (as) will have slanting eyes. "Abu Basir says: Imam Muhammad Bakir or Jafar-i Sadk said: There will be a mark between his two shoulder blades." As was the case with our Prophet (saas). A mole, as you know, is something on the surface of the skin. But a second detail is also provided. "There is a leaf to the left of and below his left shoulder bone, like a myrtle leaf." In other words, he says there is a second mark, but this will be three-dimensional, in the shape of a tree leaf. This is a glorious detail. "There is a mark reminiscent of a pearl on his cheek, like a star illuminating the Earth." Muhammad ibn Abd al-Rasul Barzanji. He says there is a mole on his cheek. For example, he says, "There is a black mark on Hazrat Mahdi's (as) right leg." On his right leg, that is another detail. Sheikh Muhammad ibn Ibrahim Nomani. He says, "There is a scar on his forehead." He says there is a scar on his forehead. "Humran Ibn Ayan says: Imam Muhammad Bakr said: There is a scar on his forehead, and a mole on his face."

"Rasulullah said: Hazrat Mahdi (as) is one of my children. He has a beautiful face. The radiance of his face will rise to his head and the black of his hair. His face is like a star shining in the sky." Muhammad al-Qari al-Hanafi says in his book Risalat Mashrab al Vardi fi Mazhabi'l Mahdi: "He has a beautiful face, and the radiance of his face lends him majesty." He says his teeth are bright, his thighs are broad. These are things I know by heart. He says his eyebrows are curved, his hair is black and his nose is small and pointed upward. He says he has a beard, he is broad-shouldered and broad-chested, and he thrusts his feet outward when he walks. In speaking, when he has difficulty speaking he uses his hands for emphasis. Al-Qawl al-Mukhtasar fi Alamat al-Mahdi al-Muntazar. That means he looks like the Israelis in appearance. He is a majestic individual with a broad forehead. That is in the book Ikdud Durar. But these are books going back 800, 900 or 1,000 years. His body is like those of the Israelites, he says, and in another account he says he has a broad forehead.

In other words, so many details have been provided that we know about his appearance and character and everything. For instance it is stated that he will have a big abdomen, that there will be a space between his thighs, that he will have a large carcase. From Ukayli Al-Najmu's-saki fi Bayan Anna al-Mahdi min Avladı Ali ibn Abu Talib Ala al-Temam al- Wamal. His eyebrows are curved, Hazrat Mahdi (as) is Arab in coloring, a reddish white.

ADNAN OKTAR: Our Prophet (saas) says of Hazrat Mahdi (as) that his hair and beard are very beautiful. He says there is a cleft between his eyebrows, meaning his eyebrows run in a single line. Most normal people have two, but our Prophet (saas) says that Hazrat Mahdi (as) has only one.

PRESENTER: In the hadith, Hazrat Mahdi (as) has thick hair and a broad brow. There is a concavity on his forehead and his nose is small. What will this concavity on Hazrat Mahdi's (as) brow be like?

ADNAN OKTAR: Everyone has a very slight one on their forehead. You have a slight curvature there yourself. Yes, by concavity a curve is meant here. Some people have a flat forehead while others have a mild concavity. A concavity that causes their eyebrows to protrude slightly.

ADNAN OKTAR: Hazrat Mahdi's (as) complexion is normally Arab, something between red and white, though it sometimes becomes darker, he says. It will probably become darker under the effect of the sun, and when he stays out of the sun from time to time it will become lighter again, that is what is being referred to, insha'Allah.
