PRESENTER: One verse speaks of creation “with a new creation.” Could you expand on that?
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, the reference to a new creation; if our hearts fail to pump blood in our bodies, we die. But there is no question of that there [in Paradise]. The heart is created as a beauty, to give delight. The veins have no such system of nourishment. The cells of the body are not destroyed, for example. The cells of the body remain exactly as they are; the cells of the body will never die for all eternity in Paradise. They die very quickly here, as you know. The body is constantly renewed. There is no such thing as death. One’s hair and teeth do not fall out, for instance. One does not have to brush one’s teeth. One’s mouth is always clean, in line with the new creation. For example, people have to wash their faces when they get up in the morning. There is no need to wash in Paradise. People are constantly very clean. They feel no pain, discomfort or cold, for instance. Indeed, there is nowhere to feel cold in, and no sensation of cold. One never falls ill. There are no germs or viruses to have that effect on people. There is therefore an entirely new creation. People have no weaknesses and no physical needs. Human beings [in Paradise] are spotless, immaculate entities and are automatically well-groomed. There is no need for any care or maintenance, for instance, neither for men nor women. But in this world a man or woman ends up in a terrible state if they do not take care of themselves, and we all know how helpless they are. This is a feature of this world. Allah creates it on purpose, so that we do not become too bound or too greedy for this world. And that is why He creates diseases and decrepitude. Women try and stave off old age with botox and that kind of thing, don’t they? They try to stave off death and old age. It is so sad, as they look very odd afterwards. Their mouths and eyebrows all contract, like plastic. They suffer terribly to be beautiful, but try to stave these things off in a panic. But this world is only brief, and they will obviously die in the end.
PRESENTER: Every age has its own beauty.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yet it would be much lovelier to remain in one’s natural state. They have their eyebrows and eyes tucked and all the rest…
PRESENTER: And they all look the same.
ADNAN OKTAR: It is very sad. Look at what they go through. It is as if their faces are made of plastic. They cannot even smile.
PRESENTER: They look permanently surprised.
ADNAN OKTAR: What need is there for all that suffering? People will in any case die in a few years. If someone is 40, let’s say, they will die in 3 or 5 or 10 years’ time. Our real lives are therefore in the Hereafter. All the beauties arising from these images are made permanent in the Hereafter. They are all finite here. We have been given the instinct for immortality, but it is not satisfied. Human beings’ most powerful instinct is that of living for ever. People think about it day and night. Sexual instincts are given us, and these are satisfied. Mothers are given their maternal instinct, and that is also satisfied. One is given the instinct for self-preservation, and that is satisfied. The instinct to live forever is specially bestowed by Allah. It is the very strongest instinct. And it is satisfied in Paradise. But Allah clouds people’s minds when people who fail to think deeply, who have difficulty understanding this, approach him with an insincere state of mind.
