From Mr. Adnan Oktar's live interview on Kanal Urfa TV and Kral Karadeniz TV, November 28th, 2009
ADNAN OKTAR: Allah has rendered sorrow unlawful. There are explicit verses on that. Look, I take refuge in Allah from the satan, “do not be loose heart,” that has become a duty, it is a decisive verse. “nor fall into despair,” that is a clear, decisive command. Allah says, “If you believe, it is certainly you who will be uppermost.” That is why there can be no question of a believer being saddened or falling into despair. However, since this world is a place of test, for example he goes and hits his head against the wall and asks why Allah hit his head against the wall, Allah is beyond that. This time he may have doubts. Or he has a baby, a young baby, that is still-born or that dies within a few hours of birth, he falls into doubts from that. But Allah reveals His existence with countless proofs. And Allah also reveals some proofs that may lead the way to the door to perversion. He causes diseases, phenomena like that, or losses that are actually auspicious, though people cannot see that, so they are unaware of the wisdom behind them. That is why a great many people are baffled by doubts.
That is to say, “Does Allah exists or not?” They are always in such a state of doubt. They look at the evidence and see is the existence of Allah clearly. But then they get a stomach cramp, for instance, and start doubting Him again. Yet it is Allah Who caused it, on purpose. For example, a close relative is killed in a car crash, and he immediately loses his faith. Let us imagine that this time he dreams of our Prophet (saas). He tells him the relative is now a martyr as the result of that accident, and the person is immediately restored to faith. But the fact is one believes in Allah only once, and never abandons that belief thereafter. That is a characteristic of the test.
Look, the Messiah will be coming, but he will not remember his own past, that finest of men. He will rise and look around him. He will see a brand new world and ask, “What am I?” He will ask those around and be given brief details. They will say he is in this world, but that he must have amnesia. “You must have forgotten who you are.” They will imagine the Messiah has amnesia because of an accident. There are religions and there is Allah. They will tell him that. They will give the Messiah the Torah, Qur’an and the Gospel. The Messiah will look at them, at the evidence, and say Allah exists. He will decide once. That is it. A faith as strong as steel. Accounts state that his eyes are like fire. He will be incredibly intelligent. He will decide to believe once. He will look at the Torah and the Gospel. It won’t even take 15 minutes, not even 15 minutes. He will say, “All right. The Qur’an is true.” That is it. It is as easy as that. Once he has decided to believe, not even three earlier generations together can ever dissuade him. You can threaten him all you like. Do what you ever like. Neither disease nor fear, nothing can make him abandon his faith.
For instance, they martyred Yahya (John the Baptist) in his day, didn’t they? They martyred his helper. But his faith just grew. Extraordinary things happened to his followers. Their faith was weak, they asked him to have a table send down from the sky, didn’t they? Allah says he felt their weakness of faith from their attitudes. He says that in a verse. Insha’Allah . I seek refuge in Allah from the satan, “Allah said, ‘I will send it down to you but if anyone among you is an unbeliever after that, I will punish him with a punishment the like of which I will not inflict on anyone else in all the worlds!’” This is the close meaning of the verse. That is why once one has come to a certain, sound and sure faith, one can never abandon Allah.
We are tested. People say they have come to be tested, but when things happen to them they get slackened. For instance, he sees that he has an opportunist friend with the televole culture(TV tabloid programs) and he goes and envies him. But that person actually lives in misery. He is living like grass, unaware of anything, so why do you envy him? Or a friend of him becomes very rich, he earns a lot of money. Okay, so he became very rich, alright. But what does such a person do. He piles meat on heaps of rice and his cholesterol shoots up. His blood pressure shoots up. Then hHe HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHNHNnHe dies 20 years earlier than you. Or he gets sick and has a terrible standard of living, that is all. He may have a huge house and have to pay a fortune to heat it. He will pay a fortune to light it. Eventually he will end up sitting in just one part of a single room. For instance, this is also a large room here, but we are sitting in just one tiny bit of it. Why don’t we spread out? In order to see each other easily and to be close. There is nothing in this world worth lusting after. People lose faith because of their greed. Asking “why am I poor?” You are poor because that is the auspicious thing for you and you must be patient. You will be poor today and rich tomorrow.
Look what Almighty Allah says for the Prophet (saas), I seek refuge in Allah from the satan “Did He not find you impoverished and enrich you?” “Did He not find you wandering and guide you?” He says. He says He had honored him with Islam. Prophet Mohammad (saas) lived by the pure, remnant religion of the Prophet Abraham (as). In other words he was still a believer, but Allah honored him with Islam, making him a Muslim. But there is a period of poverty in Rasulullah (saas)’s life. He had underwent real sufferings while he was child. Our prophet (saas), that nicest man on earth. He set out on journeys as a child under the blazing heat. There were evil people, false people all around. There was no such thing as the law then. They used to bury little children. A land of dust and earth. He grew roses and sold them. What hardships he knew! But Allah later made him wealthy. But he was poor to begin with. But he never abandoned Allah. Rasulullah (saas) always loved Him, and Almighty Allah took his beautiful soul, while he was full of His love.
