Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar’s live interview dated January 23rd, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, they considered invading Iran, that is true; they thought of bombing their nuclear facilities and of using the atom bomb in the event of a counter-attack. By Allah’s leave, we prevented that. Yes, we were instrumental in that, insha’Allah. They were going to embark on an unnecessary war with Israel, weren’t they? Iran and Israel. We prevented that, thanks be to Allah, and we were instrumental. Because the People of the Book is an issue the Qur’an explicitly pronounces. It is not something unknown. When the people of the Book are mentioned some ignorant people immediately think they should be killed and bombed, or thrown dynamites at wherever they are. Their weddings are crashed and attempts are made on everyone of their lives, regardless of the existence of women, children, young girls there. That is how they know it should be, but it is not! That is a sin. There is no such thing in Islam. What there is in Islam is love and compassion. They are in our trustworthy hands. They will be under our protection, insha’Allah, in the time of the Turkish-Islamic Union. There is even a treaty between the Christians of Hira and Muslims from the time of Hazrat Omar. See it is the time of Hazrat Omar. An agreement between the Hira Christians and Muslims says; “if any of them [of the Christians] becomes weak, or old or suffers through sickness or becomes poor when once he was rich, he and his family will receive assistance from the public purse so long as they are in Islamic territory.” Where is the killing, slaughter, bombing and hatred in that?
OKTAR BABUNA: There is protection and vigilance over them, insha’Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: In other words, if they base themselves on the time of Rasulullah (saas) and the Qur’an, then what they do is very wrong. Look at this from the Qur’an and the Sunna of Rasulullah (saas): “if one of them becomes weak [one of the Christians] or old or suffers through sickness or becomes poor when once he was rich...” This is something extraordinary, isn’t it? This is also applied to their own people, but also scrupulously to Christians. “He and his family will receive assistance from the public purse for so long as they are in Islamic territory.” During the time of Hazrat Othman, during the capture of the Armenian city of Debil, guarantees were gives that places of worship would be protected in a decree issued to Christians, Jews and Zoroastrians. Permission was always granted for the repair of the damaged churches and for the building of new monasteries and synagogues. A monastery that had previously been burned by Patriarch Mar Amme was rebuilt during the time of Hazrat Othman.
Huzeyfe bin el Yeman, in the guarantee of safety he had given to the people of the Mah Dimar, he stated that this guarantee covers their lives and possessions. See, he mentions the safety of lives and possessions, no mentioning of bombing or slaughter and whatsmore “this guarantee is given for their possessions and lands. They cannot be forced to convert. Their relationship with their own Shariah will not be interfered.”
There are thousands of expositions regarding this, during the time of Companions. And yesterday you have also explained this subject from the hadith as well.
