From Adnan Oktar’s interview on 3 February 2010
PRESENTER: “I am curious as to what you think about world-renowned people who believe in Allah such as Snoop Dogg and Britney Spears,” asks Alara Yagizkan.
ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, he is an innocent, humble and good Muslim. I wish the best for him, that brother of mine, from Allah. I congratulate him on his faith and love of Allah. I congratulate him on his belief. My Allah bestow sanctity on his faith and being a Muslim. He has been a Muslim for a long time, our brother, but has only just announced it. He was a secret Muslim. There are many artists like that. Whom we know, but who keep it secret. Muslims.
PRESENTER: Many Christians do not admit to it, either.
ADNAN OKTAR: No, they do not. Because there is public pressure. Huge public pressure. They jump all over you if you say you are a Muslim.
OKTAR BABUNA: You described Michael Jackson.
ADNAN OKTAR: He was the same. He was a Muslim for a long time. I knew all along he was a Muslim a long time before. But they told me not to let on, so I didn’t. They were unable to bear the idea. They martyred that young man. He was a pure Muslim, insha’Allah. What was the second question?
ADNAN OKTAR: She is a very cute kid, too. Really sweet and lovely. Both her appearance and her persona are very sweet. They were all over her at one time. Saying she was going to go mad or about to kill herself. As if they were going to be relieved if she killed herself. They were actually encouraging her. How could they say such things to a tiny child like that? What they said was incitement. But you know better than me. You are a psychologist. Is it right to say such things to someone who is depressed and about to commit suicide?
PRESENTER 2: Just reminding them could trigger it off.
ADNAN OKTAR: Of course. This is really very odd. Just say she is sound and healthy and we love her very much. Then, insha’Allah, she will pull herself together. You should say good things and speak positively. They say she attacked journalists and so on, and made her depressed. Allah forbid, she really may have come to the brink of suicide in that time.
PRESENTER 2: She may even have tried, unbeknown to us.
ADNAN OKTAR: May Allah forbid, of course. That is cruelty. It is unacceptable. She also believes in Allah. She is someone who believes in Allah. She has faith, insha’Allah. Most artists are like that. She is a very sweet young thing. Lovely.
