From Adnan Oktar's interview dated 13.03.2010
ADNAN OKTAR: The other day, one of our brothers was puzzled about an explanation I have made somewhere, it was a quoted passage from somewhere I have written, as a summary. I said that Paradise and Hell are in the same place. This is an explanation that stems from the fact that there is no concept of space in the Sight of Allah. Otherwise we are subject to time and space. How can Paradise and Hell be in the same place for us?
I mean my palm of one of my hands is not in the same place as the other at the same time. One is in one place and the other in another. The most it could be is that they could be on each other and even that is not the case. Consequently, since human beings are subject to time and space, of course Paradise and Hell are different. But since there is no time or space for Allah, since there is no space in His sight, as the imperative necessity of the spacelessness, as the law of Allah, they of course are interpenetrated. In other words, they are both in the same place. That is how things stand when space does not exist. That is the sense I meant it in.
This is someone famous, world famous. He was initially opposed to me. He appears on many TV channels and web sites, and talks. The other day he had apologized to me saying: "I apologize. I actually like and respect him very much, but I was puzzled about this subject..." Well, my blessed brother, why not just ask me? What kind of system is this? First you oppose, and then... It is easy enough. Log onto the web and ask. And is there anything incomprehensible about this, this is what I have been discussing everywhere.
I am someone who approaches things in a perfectly rational manner. I act according to the Qur'an. I am also someone who sees the truth and accepts it. I do not claim to know everything better than anyone else. I am an ordinary, feeble servant of Allah. I am also a student. I am still learning, in other words. And I tell people what I learn. I am therefore open to criticism. But to say "you the unbeliever, shush, I never want to speak to you again," without me knowing, is a very ignorant thing to say.
Claiming "He said that all Christians will go to Paradise. He said all Jews will go to Paradise." My brother, I do not even say that all Muslims will go to Paradise, I said no such thing. I do not say that anyone is bound for Paradise, as we do not know. We are torn between hope and fear. Why should I say such a thing? Furthermore, I also said that Christians are the People of the Book. This is clear from the verses of the Qur'an. If they believe in the Oneness of Allah, and if they perform their prayers and prayer is a component of all the faiths, and if they give their alms and are unaware of the Qur'an, I said. If they have never been told about the Qur'an then they may be a kind of ahl al-fatrat (temporarily without a Prophet). Look here they do believe in the Oneness of Allah and the Hereafter and they are genuine, and honesty is a precondition. I said, if they are honest, and the Qur'an speaks of "if they have purity." If they are pure and honest, that is a clear point. If they are honest and the religion has not been communicated to them, if they have never been told of the Qur'an, then I said it may be hoped they will go to Paradise. And what I said is true.
There is nothing peculiar about that. Or else I am not claiming that Christianity and Judaism are true faiths and so is Islam and that anyone can choose which faith he likes. I say there is one true faith and that is Islam.
But I also say that if a Christian is sincere, let me reiterate this, if he performs his prayers, and prayer is a component of all the faiths, and if he gives his alms and, let me reiterate, on the condition that he is sincere but unaware of the Qur'an, then it may be hoped he will go to Paradise.
But I do not even know whether I will go to Paradise or not.
We do not have a certain knowledge that Bediuzzaman will go to Paradise, or Abdülkadir Geylani or anyone else. Apart from the Prophets of whom it is said by revelation. Insha'Allah.
