From Mr. Adnan Oktar’s interview on Kanal 35 and Kanal Avrupa on February 7, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: All those people who strive on the path of Allah are slandered. But if someone sits at home with his wife, happily eating in front of the television, rice followed by some fruit compost, then puts his pajamas on and goes to bed, then nothing will of course happen to him. He will have no problems. There are people who wrap a turban round their heads and pray wearing that, such people would never have any problems. One only faces problems once he opposes the unbelievers. If one has attracted the enmity of Darwinists, masons, the alleged Ergenekon organization, communists, atheists, satanists and all irreligious schools and ideas, if one is engaged in a toe to toe intellectual struggle against them, in that case all kinds of scourges befall on him. But they say, “we are a very conservative family, we do not involve ourselves in such things. Beware of that.” And they even tell their children “my dear child, do not to have anything to do with such people.” Even if they see people engaging in such, they say; “ beware, don’t you see they are causing dissension. What do you care about the masons, communists or unbelievers? You perform your prayers and mind your own business,” they tell their children. “ Go to the mosque in the morning, perform your prayer, and come home again,” they tell them. That is all. Note how they have begun pushing such hodjas to the forefront. These are the new mosque mujahedeen, the domestic mujahedeen, who do not disturb anyone. For example, they do not disturb Darwinists, or materialists, and even if they try to they just look ridiculous. They supposedly give a struggle, but in fact they are all ridiculous, their opponents roll up with laughter. . In other words, a classic buffoon, a circus clown. And certified clown. I mean, the person who confronts them says they are really very entertaining, perfect clowns. But if you ask him, he would say he communicatesthe word really well. He says he communicates the word like a comedian. In that way, he belittles both himself and lets people to speak against Islam and the Qur’an. And he calls that preaching the word. And there are people who believe that. There are people who believe those words and respect them. They say such people are doing great things. They, for instance, publish a caricature periodical and attack the religion and sacred things. It is a Muslim who actually produce these, a Muslim produce caricature periodical supposedly. They mock the prayer, may Allah forbid, they mock the Hereafter, Paradise and Hell, they mock the angels; those are all mocking caricatures supposedly mocking religion and they roll up with laughter at those with their dirty yellow teeth. He entertains himself. To my knowledge, this was a technique employed by atheists. But many Muslims have added to what the atheists did many times over. When they meet together they either engage in talks ridiculing the angles, may Allah forbid, or the Gabriel and the Hereafter. Furthermore, this has become quite fashionable and widespread among Muslims, it is widespread among many Muslims. I consider the good ones to be free of this, of course. Look, this is a terrible vice and rudeness. It is immoral, insulting and incompatible with good conscience to ridicule the religion and the sacred things.
CİHAT GÜNDOĞDU: You know better insha’Allah, and you have already written a book on this subject called Passivity in Religion. I have known you for around 20 years, and this is a matter you frequently emphasize. Such attempts they have to try to make Muslims passive, insha’Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes, I also discussed the matter in brief passages in my book Judaism and Freemasonry at that time. Some Muslims have an inferiority complex. They are beaten, but try to hide it by showing off. They try to cast off that defeatism by showing off. They go to their friends, to their atheist friends and personally ridicule the religion and the sacred things. They try to get on with them by showing off. And their friends are amazed by that showing off and to some extent allow them in. It relieves and pleases him. Whereas they can see how they are devoid of character from that alone, even the unbeliever can catch on these people have no character. Because nobody respects someone who does not respect his own cause, right?
CİHAT GÜNDOĞDU: In verse 72 of Surat an-Nisa’, Allah says, I take refuge in Allah from the satan “Among you there are people who hang back and if you encounter a setback then they say, ‘Allah has blessed me in that I was not there with them’.”
ADNAN OKTAR: This is very widespread. It was around in the time of Rasulullah (saas), and in Said Nursi’s time. Around 100 of Said Nursi’s followers were arrested and imprisoned with him. Allah protected me, they say. Some people say that if they had gone along with them, they would have been imprisoned, too. In other words, these people thought the others had made a huge mistake. In the time of Rasulullah (saas) some people said, Allah protected us from going along with Rasulullah’s group. Look, they said, such a such a person has been martyred and so and so has had an arm lopped off. Who knows what might have become of us, they said. Allah protected us, they said, and restored us to our families and children.
ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, they think they have been saved. They think they have done something very clever. But they are actually hypocrites who will go to the lowest part of hell. They imagine themselves to be very well. Allah also sets this out in verses, saying that though they think they know themselves very well they actually realize they are in a very bad position. And Allah says; “Then they will have no recourse except to say, ‘By Allah, our Lord, We were not associaters.’” and “The actions of such people come to nothing in this world or the Hereafter” “saying, ‘This is for Allah,’ – as they allege –” He says, “‘and this is for our idols.’,” for their own interests, their own worldly desires, in other words, “Their idols’ share does not reach Allah whereas,” He says, “Allah’s share reaches their idols!” Allah says he takes nothing from them. He says he accepts nothing of what they give Him. He says they all go to their idols. So the problem lies here; a classic conception of Islam has spread in many Muslim countries. People imagine they will go to paradise by just performing their prayers and sitting at home, happily occupying themselves with their families and children, if they have gone on the Hajj. We see no such thing in the Qur’an. If there is, they must show it to me. Look, Allah states quite explicitly, addressing all Muslims: “Or did you suppose that you would enter the Garden” He says, “without facing the same as those who came before you?” The Qur’an refers to those who have gone before. Without them, Allah says He will not let them to paradise. They pacify people by saying there are just five requirements in Islam, that you must pray, fast and give alms and that is it. That is so not the case. There are 6 requirements in Islam. There is also the world dominion of Islam and striving to that end, waging intellectual struggle, striving on the path of Allah. There is commanding people to avoid what is unlawful and telling people the truth. In the absence of that, Allah says he will destroy whole nations, destroy their countires. Look you can see this in all the prophets and in all things that happen. In another verse Allah says, “Would that there had been more people with a vestige of good among the generations of those who came before you, who forbade corruption in the earth...” This is grounds for destruction. For example, were Hazrat Mahdi (as) not to come, the Last Day would take place. But Hazrat Mahdi (as) will delay Doomsday. Allah has postponed the Last Day because of Hazrat Mahdi (as). He says that even if but one day were left until the Last Day, Allah will prolong that day because of the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (as). This is a trustworthy hadith, and there are many hadith on the subject. Yes, carry on.
CİHAT GÜNDOĞDU: In verse 19 of Surat at-Tawba, Allah says: “Do you make the giving of water to the pilgrims and looking after the Masjid al-Haram the same as having faith in Allah and the Last Day and doing struggle in the way of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. Allah does not guide wrongdoing people.”
