Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's live conversation on Harunyahya.tv, March 16th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: For one thing, there is the fact that "Sincere believers are under pressure." It says "You will be brought before kings and governors, and all on account of my name." (Luke, 21:12)But this is in the Injil and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) says that this is because his name is mentioned. For instance, they are asked whose followers they are. They say, 'we are the followers of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh).' But they damn them. They attack and defame the followers of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh).
"You will be betrayed even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends." (Luke 21:16) Look, your mother will report you to the police it says, your own mother will take action against you with the police of the time, and the courts. What will she say about her own child? She will complain as to that era about something she has thought up like a criminal organization, or terrorist activity, or anything else. "You will be betrayed even by parents" (Luke, 21:16) it says, to the state of the time. "Brothers, relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death." (Luke 21:16) For example, "You will be betrayed even by relatives and friends"; they will say 'go and arrest them, they are doing this and that.' They will witness in secret. That is also in the Injil.
"And they will put some of you to death." (Luke, 21:16) "All men will hate you because of me." (Mark, 13:13) Because he is the follower of so-and-so. For example, they will hate the follower because he is a follower of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh).
"But he who stands firm to the end will be saved." (Mark, 13:13) The Injil says you must have fortitude, in which case you will win. "All these are the beginning of birth pains." (Matthew, 24:8) Injil says these are the signs of the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus (pbuh).
"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death." (Matthew, 24:9) They will inflict terrible difficulty upon you, they will persecute you in courts, imprison you, attack you, inflict pain on you and kill you.
"You will be hated by all nations because of me." (Matthew, 24:9) In other words, they will still hound you wherever you go. They will hate him just because he is the follower of the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) or Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). That is what the Injil is referring to. These are true parts of the Injil that have not been altered, insha'Allah.
"Then you will be handed over to be persecuted." (Matthew, 24:9) Look, it says that people will send you to court. They will issue false allegations and send you to court. "On my account you will be brought before governors and kings" (Matthew, 10:18), in other words, they will be brought before the institutions of the state, "as witnesses to them." And your testimony will be taken.
"All men will hate you because of me." (Mark, 13:13) They will hate them because they are the followers of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) or the Prophet Jesus (pbuh).
"But see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come", "and earthquakes in various places." (Matthew, 24:6-7) This has intensified of late, hasn't it? "All these are the beginning of birth pains" (Matthew, 24:8), it says. In other words, these are portents of the coming of the Messiah and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Matthew 24:6-8, these passages have not changed, insha'Allah.
"There will be great earthquakes." (Luke, 21:11) Look, the quake in Chile had a rating of magnitude more than 8, didn't it? These are happenings that will take place before the coming of the Messiah, and Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh).
"The time will come when not one stone will be left on another." (Luke, 21:6) There will be great earthquakes in cities, and wars, and buildings will be destroyed.
"No earthquake like it has ever occurred since man has been on earth." (Revelation, 16:18) The earthquake in Chile was the severest in the last 150 years, wasn't it?
ADNAN OKTAR: Yes. "The great city split into three parts." (Revelation, 16:19) The city there was devastated.
CİHAT GUNDOGDU: Roads were split open.
ADNAN OKTAR: "And the cities of the nations collapsed." (Revelation, 16:19) Constant earthquakes will persist before the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). In Mark we see it says "There will be earthquakes in various places." (Mark, 13:8).
"Where there is a dead body, there the vultures will gather." (Luke, 17:37) In other words, whenever people see something evil, that is where they will go; they will try to make it dominant; they will be united. These are explained.
"The reviling of the devout."That is in the Talmud, the Torah. "In the footsteps of the Messiah [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)]..." in the run up to the Mahdi (pbuh), who is described as the King Messiah in the Torah, but is known to Muslims as the Mahdi (pbuh): "In the footsteps of the Messiah [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)]... fearers of sin will be despised, and truth will be lacking" (Talmud, Sotah 49b). It says people will be unable to find the truth. But Muslims will be oppressed and disparaged, it says in Talmud, Sotah 49b. "In the footsteps of the King Messiah [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), fearers of sin will be despised". One says he does not want to commit a sin. They respond by saying, "Are you a reactionist, are you abnormal, how come you do that?"In Talmud, Sotah 49b it says, there will be people who say, 'Why don't you want to commit a sin? Why not drink alcohol or enter into illicit relations?'
"In the generation when the son of David [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)] comes... an evil man will be honored." (Talmud, Sanhedrin 97a) In other words, people will grovel before someone who is really vulgar, a newspaper magnate perhaps or something. All the people around him act like a fawner. Do they love that person? No, they actually hate him. But he will still pretend to appreciate that person even though he hates him. Or he may be a television channel producer, putting his glasses in his mouth, or his fingers in his mouth or sticking whatever he finds in his mouth, pens or whatever under people’s gaze. A really dreadful man, with no conscience. Everyone knows where he serves. But since he occupies a key post they act like grovelers, clingingly towards him, in fear that he may slander them, play a trick on them or speak against them. And that man starts to think that he is very wonderful. Look, that is what it is saying. "In the generation when the son of David [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)] comes… an evil man will be honored." (Talmud, Sanhedrin 97a)
"You who hate good and love evil." (Micah, 3:2) It says you will hate a good man, a benevolent, truthful, virtuous man. And we see this happening. And it says you will love the evil; "and love evil" in Micah 3:2. For example that man is an oppressor, but they love him because he has power.
"The Messiah [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)] will not come... unless the disciples [who learn Allah's words] will decrease." (Talmud, Sanhedrin 97a)The Mahdi (pbuh) will not appear until there is a decline in religious education, again in the Talmud.
"In the generation of Messiah's [Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh)] coming... the Kingdom will be converted to heresy."(Talmud, Sanhedrin 97a) It says the majority of state leaders will be disbelievers. This means they are irreligious and we see that in the world. And "there will be none [to offer them] reproof." They will accept no system, but will just follow their own desires.
"In the generation when the son of David [Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)] comes... the leaders of that generation will have the nature of dogs." (Talmud, Sanhedrin 97a) There will be people who are self interested it says in the Talmud. Most of the world's leaders are like that, aren't they? They follow their own interests but people are fed up with them, and that is why they do not want them, insha'Allah.
