From AdnanOktar’s TV Kayseri Interview, 24 March 2010
PRESENTER I: "Salamun Alaikum, my worthy brothers".
ADNAN OKTAR: Alaikum Salam.
PRESENTER I: Ersin Asru asks, "Would they tear the Masjid al-Aqsa down? If they did, there would be terrible disorder and war. What are our Hodja's thoughts about that?"
ADNAN OKTAR: They will not tear the Masjid al-Aqsa down. Nothing will happen to the al-Aqsa Mosque. It will be made even more prosperous in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). The Masjid of Solomon will be rebuilt and the Masjid al-Aqsa will be renovated and beautified. We will build masjids at the site of the tomb of the Prophet Abraham (pbuh) and widen the area.
But there is no need for unnecessary tension with Israel. Launching rockets against Israeli villages and towns has no purpose at all and it is incompatible with the Qur'an. They launch their missiles against Israel. But against whom? There are women and children there, also Muslims, Christians and devout Jews. So who are you aiming at there? Launching rockets blind is unacceptable. They eventually land on people who have nothing to do with it and harm them. There is a law of war in Islam. You have to announce openly and say, "I have declared war on you." You explicitly declare war as a state and say, "now let's see you oppose us if you have the nerve." The other side then stands up and you start fighting with all your might. One side wins, the other side loses, and there are peace conditions. You declare peace, and by means of an agreement you all abide by the peace provisions. That is the way to make war. It [war] is not going and killing women and children. [If you say] "That is what Israel does, too," then if Israel is doing that, it is doing wrong and acting abnormally.
PRESENTER I: But it is abnormal if a Muslim does this.
ADNAN OKTAR: A Muslim will not do it. It is as clear as that. Whoever does that is doing wrong and acting abnormally. Now, there is a village out there and they launch a rocket at it. The rocket chooses any one of the houses and destroys it, blows it up. What does that gain anyone? There may be a Muslim family with elders in it, or a Christian one, or devout Jews, and they die while at prayer. What is this? What has anyone gained with that? If they are going to fight anyone, it has to be Israeli troops.
PRESENTER II: Armies must fight.
ADNAN OKTAR: Of course. Armies must fight. It could be the Palestinian Army, if they have one. They presumably have established some regular fighting force. Whatever. It could be a militia force. The troops of both sides announce to the entire world, "We are declaring war". Then, there will be a regular war, but women, children are not harmed and prisoners of war are not tortured. There are many laws about it. The other side has to attack first. I mean, the other side has to attack the Muslims. That is called war, and this is how war was fought in the time of our Prophet (saas), they were all defense wars. Counter forces attacked, and they were on the defense. Indeed, there was no direct offensive war in the time of our Prophet (saas). They were always defensive. That is acceptable. But after making a peace agreement, and saying "we have made peace, and you will not attack me again", in that case they would not attack you. And you can travel around freely and they will travel around the same way. But then you come up and say, "now I am going to launch a rocket at you." So, they will then launch a rocket at you... What is this? What good is that? The result is a war, which is not actually a war.
PRESENTER II: It becomes slaughter.
ADNAN OKTAR: Something very odd. One must act in conformity with the Qur'an.
PRESENTER I: Almost nothing is left of the rules of war after the nuclear armament of recent years. Almost.
ADNAN OKTAR: Nobody can use nuclear weapons. There is no need for Israel to harbor such concerns. No nuclear armament will be used in Israel. Neither Israel will use nuclear weapons against any country, nor any country will use nuclear weapons against Israel. There is no question of that. Nobody cannot use nuclear weapons from now on. There will be no such incident. We are in the age of the Mahdi (pbuh). The coming of the King Messiah, described as Shiloh in the Torah, is imminent. The coming of the King Messiah, in other words the Mahdi (pbuh), may happen at any moment. The King Shiloh who is the King Messiah, in other words the Mahdi (pbuh), will build the Masjid of Solomon. If anyone else tries to do build that, the heavens will fall onto him; in other words he will put himself into great trouble. He will place himself into disaster. There is no question of that. The Mahdi (pbuh) must be patiently awaited. And everyone will see that the Mahdi (pbuh) will realize this duty. He is commissioned with this obligation. If anyone else tries to do it, they will pay for this in return. Disaster will strike them from Allah. Nobody will draw near that. But we still need to strive to overcome the tension between Israel and the Palestinians. Because both are descended from the Prophet Abraham (pbuh). Both peoples believe in the One Allah. This tension between them is very wrong and mistaken.
And there can be no such rules of war. There should be a law of war between Palestine and Israel along the lines of the time of our Prophet (saas), in conformity with the Qur'an and the Sunnah. But there can be no surprise assaults, suicide attacks or rockets. In that case the Israelis could conceal their bombs too and enter a school in Palestine, then blow it up among the children inside of it. Where does that get anyone? What results will that produce? What needs to be done is for both sides to pray to Allah. To beg Allah for the coming of the Mahdi (pbuh). For both sides to beg for the world to attain peace and security under the command of the Mahdi (pbuh), both sides have to pray in awe, improve their moral virtues and strengthen feelings of brotherhood. Allah has made a promise for such conditions. It is clear that an excellent outcome can be obtained with this conception of love and understanding of help from Allah. Those lands are quite vast. There is just a handful of Israelis, not that many. And only a handful of our Palestinian brothers. Allah will give them all salvation and ease. All Palestinians will insha'Allah be saved. The prisons will be emptied. No prisoners will be left in Israel. And there will be no more prisoners in Palestine, too. They will really live at ease, insha'Allah; they will attain a delightful and peaceful life. But this will come about through binding themselves to Allah. It cannot happen with political conflict, shouting and hollering, or with tensions and unease. It can only happen with the remembrance of Allah, worshipping Allah in devotion and with love entering people's souls. That is the truth.
