From Mr. Adnan Oktar's live interview on www.harunyahya.tv on March 12th, 2010
ALTUG BERKER: Verses 1 and 2 of Surat al-Takathur say, "Fierce competition for this world [goods and belongings and property] distracted you until you went down to the graves."
ADNAN OKTAR: This is highly significant. Of course. This verse sheds complete light on the matter, masha'Allah. It is as if they could really enjoy themselves in this world. For instance, I see them on television channels, music is playing everywhere but it is the same constant rhythm all the time. That is a kind of music in four pitches. The same thing continually. Everyone who is there, and some appear to have taken drugs, they sway around all the time. They see the cameras and shake their hands and arms about like chimpanzees, making all kinds of excited gestures. But, first of all, you have the mafia there, all kinds of a bad lot. There may be decent people there, too, and I exonerate them. There are all kinds of people, in other words. But how can anyone have the confidence to go there? The smell of the danger of death is everywhere. There may be a psychopath there and you would not know. He says, "Why did you look at me?" and that is the end no matter how you respond. You would be guilty either way, whether you say you looked or did not look, or even if you kept quiet. That means there will aways be a psychotic act there.
ALTUG BERKER: At the very least they are all drunk. They have lost half their minds.
ADNAN OKTAR: At the very least they are drunk. Of course. People there cannot know or recognize one another. People are happy among those they love. So how can you be happy there? How can anyone enjoy there? How can anyone be at peace in such a tense and dangerous environment? Is that reasonable? All kinds of abnormal things and acts are there.
The most sublime place is paradise. Those who first arrive are welcomed with words of "Salam." And they are told to enter in peace and security. People want security above all. They want their minds and bodies to be safe. Don't they? What does "Salam" mean? It means you are safe. It means you will come to no harm, no one will interfere with you. No one will try and cheat or trick you. There will be no suffering. Isn't that right? This is one of greatest luxuries of Paradise. The fact that it is safe, insha'Allah. Allah deliberately creates unsafe environments. That is why nobody enjoys himself in them. They just pretend to. What is enjoyable about it, I mean. Either they can't keep still or they say, "I am bored, let's go out." Meaning, let's move on to another disco. Then they say, "This place is no good." Or "Let's go to another restaurant." Then they get fed up there, as well. Next, "Shall we go home?" Then they go home and are restless there, too. Finally, "The best thing is to go to sleep," they say. Allah has bestowed this restlessness on them. And they can never be happy. Shouting and screaming cannot make one happy. They just pretend to be happy, and that is infuriating.
