Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's interview on HarunYahya.TV, dated March 11th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: People have a tendency to haste. That is mentioned also in the Qur'an. It says "Man was created hasty," (Surat Al-Anbiya, 37) doesn't it? There can be no test in haste, and moral virtue does not appear in haste. We see it is important to be loyal to those one loves, for instance. That is a command in the Qur'an. What is needed for loyalty? Time is needed. “I am loyal to you,” for how many hours? He or she has been loyal for only an hour. That is not loyalty. Loyalty begins at least with 40 years, doesn't it? That is the bottom line. It develops after 40 years, by Allah's leave. The bottom line for perseverance is also at least 40 years. After that is the beginning, then comes taqwa (devotion). 40 years is a reasonable period of time, insha'Allah.
Those brothers and sisters who love and have heartfelt bonds with us will think of the next year, and the one after that, and the one after that. Allah will bestow many means upon them. It is important to redouble this year's enthusiasm in the following year. “He whose days are equal to one another loses,” says our Prophet (saas). That enthusiasm has to be increased. There can be no stability in love, for example. I love Allah, but next year I must love Him more. I believe in Allah now, but next year I must believe in Him more. I serve Allah, but next year I must serve Him more. It has to keep on strengthening and growing. That means abundance in this world and the Hereafter. A growing body stays young. But a still one grows old and collapses. Stillness means death. But there is life and beauty and goodness in vivacity and growth. There is vigor, health, wellness, youth and beauty and goodness. That is why there has to be constant growth. If you look at static types, you watch them collapsing day by day. They collapse socially, economically, physically, mentally, morally and in every other way, don't they?
