PRESENTER: "Salamun alaikum. A female Syrian atheist and presenter said improper things about Islam. Please can you respond?" From Halit, who is a student at Marmara University.

ADNAN OKTAR: Alaikum salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu. Yes, there is such a woman. I looked her up and found her yesterday. An ugly woman long past her prime. A woman who hates the world, and has filled herself up with rage and hatred. Believe me, if that woman were a pleasant person, if she were a lovable person, if there were any love in her, then she would not be filled with such rage, and she would not say such hateful things. I saw she has really gone over the top. And there were even people clapping and egging her on. They were all arranged, as well. It is a pity, some of our evangelical brothers, in other words our masonic evangelical friends, support such people both materially and spiritually. They say, "You have a huge talent. Stand up and say things against Islam and the Prophet (saas)." They claim, "We are opposed to these also, but our saying so will have no effect. But you are thought of as a Muslim, so if you shout and rage, you will attract far more attention." They occasionally bring such people to the front, with the aim of influencing those whose faith is weak or who are not decided or have not sufficiently investigated matters.

In her own eyes at least, she employs the most important weapon which is sexuality. She is trying to fight against religion and Islam in her own opinion by means of sexuality. That is how it has always been throughout history. Sexual slanders were made against the Prophet Jesus (pbuh), and against the Prophet Joseph (pbuh), and against Hazrat Maryam (pbuh). They gave the impression that Hazrat Maryam (pbuh) was an immoral woman. They tried to give the impression, may Allah forbid, that the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) was the result of an illicit liaison. The same kind of slanders have been made against other Prophets. As you know, they held the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) for 7 years on charges of rape. He spent 7 years in prison, even though he never did any such thing, simply because of defamation by a woman who alleged he had tried to rape her. That is why we love the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) so much, one of the reasons we find is this.

This woman approaches from the very same perspective, she aims at our Prophet’s (saas) marriages. For one thing, in Arabia, in especially on the Arabian Peninsula, human life expectancy was no more than 30-40 years in those days. Our Prophet (saas) lived very long, 63 years was a very great age in respect to that region. People died very young. Since there were especially no antibiotics or similar medicines, many people died at young ages. For example, our Prophet (saas) lost all his children during his own lifetime. He lost almost all his wives, the majority of them all died. Women also matured very quickly there, due to the heat. They assume the appearance of normal young ladies at 9, 10 or 11. Our Prophet (saas) was also betrothed to his wife at the age of 9, which is very normal. Then, he got married when she was a bit older. That woman describes this, in her own eyes, as if it were the most important weapon, with a great fervor and dishonesty.

She emphasizes that there is violence in Islam. On the contrary, there are only defensive wars in Islam. There are no offensive wars for attack, and no sudden wars of conquest. There is no such thing as saying, "Come on, let’s seize our enemy’s country or grab that piece of land." If someone attacks you, then you defend yourself for saving your life. And that is what happened. All the wars in the time of our Prophet (saas) were defensive ones. In Trench (Hendek) War, as understood from its name, they built trenches in case they were attacked. Why else surround oneself with trenches? The only purpose is to defend oneself. People of the time, those opposed to our Prophet (saas), were ignorant, bloodthirsty psychopaths involved in killings. And there were no police in those days, no judges, no prosecutors, no courts, no nothing.

They hanged and butchered as they pleased. What was the Prophet (saas) to do? There were those pure young Muslim girls, children and their mothers, sisters. Their enemies turned up and said, "We are going to kill them all. We are going to rape and dishonor them all." And so they came and killed. What were he [the Prophet (saas)] expected to do? Of course he defended them all. That is a religious obligation. But she asks, "Why did he defend himself?" What kind of a question is this? If someone attacked her, will she not defend herself? Let us see what she would do if approached by a psychopath? Of course she would also defend herself. What could be more legitimate than that? Every country and every individual will defend itself against attacks as right of self-defence. It is therefore a very primitive act of this woman to try and attack Islam, the Qur’an and the deen so ignorantly, taking advantage of the ignorance of some members of the public.
