Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's live interview on HarunYahya.TV, March 23rd, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: “He turned himself away from them and said, ‘What anguish is my sorrow for Joseph!’" His father loves the Prophet Joseph (pbuh) exceedingly. "And then his eyes turned white from hidden grief." How adorable masha'Allah. Like people who swallow out of sadness; he is in deep sorrow. "His eyes turned white", it means that sorrow harms the eyes, breaks the power of sight, troubles the eyes, so destroying the liveliness and lucidness of the eyes. Eyes become more beautiful with love, but they fall down with sorrow. As it is revealed in the verse: "And then his eyes turned white from hidden grief." This may result in a very serious sickness. "They said, ‘By Allah, you will not ever cease to mention Joseph, till you waste away or are among the people of the grave!’" Almighty Allah calls attention to this in the Qur'an, that sorrow may lead to sickness. "Or are among the people of the grave!’", they say that you can even die. In the 86th verse, 86th verse, "He said, ‘I make complaint about my grief and sorrow to Allah alone because I know things from Allah you do not know." So there is something in '86. Look, "I make complaint about my grief and sorrow", so he is very sad for he says he is in grief. "I make complaint about my grief and sorrow to Allah alone." That is what a Muslim should do; he will say "Oh my Lord" and he will ask for strength and endurance from Allah, not from people. He will not get sad. Sorrow is forbidden. Muslims will severely avoid this.
