Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's live interview on Kocaeli TV, June 11th, 2010
ALTUG BERKER: They said, "Let's rediscover our strength."
ADNAN OKTAR: But this, "Let's rediscover our strength", "Turkey is growing strong", "Turkey is on the way to become a super power", these can be misunderstood. Like in the sense, as if Turkey is an economic super power, a military super power. Turkey is a spiritual super power. Turkey has no such power; we are not a rich country in that sense. We have a spiritual wealth and our wealth is based on the Qur'an. We have power based on the Qur'an. We have a light of faith, a sense of being an elder brother, a joy and enthusiasm insha'Allah. That's why we are strong. Therefore, when we say that Turkey is strong, this is what should come to mind; not in the sense of Turkey walks all over, this and that, not in that meaning. It is in the sense that Turkey is reasonable, balanced, loved and trustworthy and just. It has a dominant character, it is dominant. Turkey acts with justice, doesn't it? It acts as an arbitrator and gives the right decision; this is what is meant. Turkey is increasingly misunderstood in Europe, as if it's becoming a military power that will crush over everyone, as if it has a manner that challenges everyone. There is no such thing. Turkey is on a line that calms everybody, distributes love to everywhere, searches for peace and humanity and mercy. It is full of feelings of public spirit. For example, just like in the incident with Israel, Turkey didn't say let's go and tear down Israel or anything else. Turkey asked for an apology as it was an unjust act. But of course the court ruling, meaning the ruling of the international court would also comfort us. So no one gets away with it; that's what we are saying. Whoever does it, whoever is guilty, right?
ALTUG BERKER:Insha'Allah. The President of Kazakhistan, Nazarbayev said that they are sure about our experience, insha'Allah just like you said: "The countries in the region see Turkey as a savior."
ADNAN OKTAR:But now this is very important. It is a spiritual savior. For example, to say "save us", when any country does something like this, Turkey goes and smashes their faces and pours oil in troubled waters; that's not it. This might really be misunderstood. Turkey is a country that lives the light of Mahdism. It is a country where the light of Allah manifests intensely, a country that spirituality is strong. Turkey is the teacher of love and friendship, teacher of brotherhood. Turkey is very effective in this sense.
ALTUG BERKER: Political scientists from Egypt made comments such as: "Time for Turkey in the Middle East" insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR:My brother, when I said these, they were all getting surprised. Look they were surprised two years ago. But see that there were television programs in that time as well. They were astonished to these ideas, let's look at that period. Look how 2 years have changed the course of the events. It changed the place of Turkey. And we are not even in 2012 yet, we are in 2010, think about it. The real push will actually begin in 2012. Who knows what will happen then, insha'Allah.
ALTUG BERKER: There were people who converted to Islam from Christianity, on the way to Gazza. "British citizen, Peter Venner, who came aboard the Blue Marmara ship, chose Islam in Istanbul. The 63 years old peace volunteer now talks about the things he lived on the way to Gazza, in England." He said, "I learnt the Qur'an on the ship" insha'Allah. Moreover recently, in England lots of people, especially women, are converting to Islam masha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR:Masha'Allah, Alhamdulillah. What does it say there? "What does an atheist do on the ship?" What does it say there, open it, let me see? The one before. Jihad, what is that?
ALTUG BERKER: "If it was an act of jihad, what does an atheist do there?" They used to blame the ones on the ship as terrorists. They say, "There were people from all circles on the ship", meaning the volunteers.
ADNAN OKTAR:Jihad means to make an effort. If you are doing good deeds on the way of Allah, then you perform jihad; if you show love, you perform jihad; if you communicate knowledge, you perform jihad. Jihad means effort. Why would a person not talk to an atheist? Why not? They are also Allah's servants. We work for them to gain faith; we try to become an instrument for them to gain faith. What does this mean? For example, there are atheist Zionists; so are we not to meet them? Right? There are atheist masons; are we not to talk to them? We talk to them even if they were satanists. We preach the religion, Islam. Why not talk to them?
