ADNAN OKTAR: We are in the age of the Mahdi (pbuh). As I have already said before. It is not acceptable, for neither the Jews, nor the Muslims, to use weapons from now on. It will all be done through peace, brotherhood, reason, ideas, culture and art, not through weapons. It was essential for people to defend themselves with weapons, in the time of those pagan cultures, of polytheism, of hypocrites and pagans, of aggressive people who refused to listen to reason. That was because there was no other way of stopping them. That means they would not listen. You could not talk to them or do anything. All they did was attack. And when they attacked, others had to defend themselves, quite legitimately. Even in that stance, Allah tells us not to go to extremes. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth, and that is all. Therefore, to encourage Muslims to violence, as Cübbeli Ahmet does, in the full knowledge that it will ruin them, to drag those innocent people into a climate of war, is not acceptable when defeat is one hundred percent certain. What can unarmed people do against tanks and bullets, bombs and helicopters? Obviously nothing. How can one induce such people to a conflict? This is not something to be encouraged. If you go in, you have to go in fully equipped and do what is to be done. But when is this done? Only in an appropriate environment. But we are now in the age of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the system of the Mahdi. Arms in the age of the Messiah(pbuh) and the Mahdi(pbuh) are reason, ideas, knowledge, art and culture. It is the ability to convince others. These are books and CDs and films. That is to say, we cannot persuade people over by beating, swearing at and killing people. You cannot say, "Come here and I will break your nose and make a Muslim out of you and make you abandon your own ideas." If you beat someone, he would hit you back. That is to say he would do something, he would react even more strongly, and that is unacceptable. In the End Times, the best way of dealing with people who listen to reason, whom you can talk to, is preaching. Bediüzzaman says for the system of the dajjal; "the more the ability to convince and preach develops," see that he says this is used for the system of the dajjal; "The more the ability to convince and preach develops, the more that plague would develop." He refers to the system of the dajjal as a plague. So what are the Muslims to do? They must improve their abilities to convince and preach as well. How is the ability to convince and preach gained? It is gained through art, science, reason and love. Isn't that right? It is gained by addressing people's souls. Affection and patience are very important on this point. One must not be over hasty or let oneself be worn down.
