PRESENTER : Our Prophet (saas) says, "Whichever of you lives to see that day must join him, even if he has to crawl on snow."  Could you explain this hadith? In what sense is the term 'joining' being used? Being physically present at his side, or obeying his commands? With regards and prayers..

ADNAN OKTAR: Of course, I can give an example from my own experience. I am, for instance, seeking Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and am sure that he has come. Just as I am of the same opinion about the Prophet Jesus(pbuh), I believe that he has come as well. But I am striving with all my power. I am telling people of Islam, the signs leading to faith, of love and peace, I am telling everything people would need so that they can have peace and think rationally. I criticize bigotry and reactionary thinking. Because Islam will not rule the world as long as bigotry and reactionary thinking exist. First of all, bigotry and reactionary thinking, this idolized way of thinking should be eliminated. 

Our Prophet (saas) also strove against polytheistic thinking in his own day. It was the polytheists of the time who caused Hazrat Ali(ra) to be martyred. Hazrat Ali(ra) was martyred by backward polytheists who called themselves Muslims. The martyrdom of Hazrat Hasan(ra) and Hazrat Hussein(ra), of Hazrat Umar(ra) and Hazrat Uthman(ra) were all perpetrated by the fanatics of the time. The same mentality, those who follow the fanatics who martyred Hazrat Uthman(ra) and Hazrat Ali(ra), fanatics who call themselves Muslims, will oppose Hazrat Mahdi(pbuh) now in the End Times. "Seventy thousand bigots with robes and shaved heads will strive against the Mahdi)," he says. Our Prophet (saas) says that, and it is a hadith from a very reliable source.

The reference here is to these people's mindset and character. It is a mindset that prevents people from loving Islam, Allah and the Prophet (saas), instead of delightedly becoming Muslims, passionately loving Islam. This is a strong poison. It is a mindset that is far, far stronger and more effective than the irreligious or the masons. That is why it is so essential for this mindset to be eliminated, for this idolized thinking to be eradicated. This is one of the most important tasks which will be carried out by the Mahdi(pbuh). We will therefore support such a person with all our might. What am I doing? I am talking and striving against bigotry, I am preaching all that I can. I am describing the invalidity of Darwinism and that is the greatest idol in the world, it is the greatest idolized thinking. I am striving to eradicate it. I am telling people of the signs leading to faith. I am preparing the ground for Hazrat Mahdi (as), the mujaddid (the renovator) of the century, the greatest mujaddid there has ever been. My brothers must behave in the same way. It is not something that could be pleaded ignorance about. One should see the situation and make honest efforts.
