OKTAR BABUNA:You have spoken of not giving Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) secrets away. You know better than us, insha'Allah, and you have already expounded on one hadith. You said that it is revealed in the hadith that our Prophet (saas) knew Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) name but that he made  Hazrat Ali(ra) promise not to reveal it.

ADNAN OKTAR:Yes. He tells Hazrat Ali, "You will not speak it, but I will tell you his name." It is narrated from Jabir Abu Jafar that: "Umar asked the prince of the faithful, Hazrat Ali, about the Mahdi; O Ali ibn Abi Talib (Hazrat Ali), tell me about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)". He asked Hazrat Ali, "what is his name?" He asks about his name. And the prince of the faithful Hazrat Ali(ra) said: 'My beloved and dear friend, the Prophet (saas), said; "Almighty Allah made me promise not to tell anyone Hazrat Mahdi's name until He brings him forth" He says he knows his name but has promised not to reveal it. That means it is not Ahmet, Mahmut, Muhammed or Mustafa, none of those four. Otherwise, when he said "his name resembles mine" we would have said, okay, it is one of those and there would be no secret to hide. But since it is a secret, it is unknown. "Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) name is one of those facts Almighty Allah entrusted to His Messenger(pbuh)." But when will his name be known? He says, "Almighty Allah made me promise not to tell anyone Hazrat Mahdi's name until He brings him forth." That means that Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) name will be evident in the years of his coming. What did I say? The line of the Messenger of Allah (Rasulullah)(pbuh) is the Ben-i Adnan. He comes from the line of Adnan. It will continue as a direct line. Is that a direct line?

OKTAR BABUNA:There is the statement in the Qasida Ar-Arjuza. 

ADNAN OKTAR:Let me have it. Look, everyone knows the 'Qasida Ar-Arjuza'  in which Hazrat Ali says that out Prophet's (saas) name is Adnan; Hazrat Ali's qasida is famous. It is narrated that following one event Hazrat Ali addressed our Prophet (saas), who gave him the title of Abu Turab, as “The Prophet Mustafa Adnan the Hadi.”See how he addresses our Prophet(saas); "The Prophet Mustafa Adnan, the Mahdi" in that time. I therefore came to have two names. And there is the title I had never heard before. He gave me this title, Abu Turab: The Prophet Mustafa Adnan the Hadi

We can thus see that Hazrat Mahdi(pbuh)'s name is Adnan, that is because it is his family name. For instance in a person's family line, whoever is the last person known is that person's line, his family line comes from that person.  The name of the Prophet's (saas) known, I mean known as the grandfather initiating his family line, is Adnan. Consequently all the people coming from that line are known as the Ben-i Adnan, the People of Adnan. Our Prophet (saas) is one of the People of Adnan. When we ask his father's name, when he is addressed, we speak of his father as the "Mister Adnan" and of his son as the "Mister Adnan." That is because they are addressed by their surnames, as you know. And if our Prophet (saas) were still with us now, we would address him as "Mister Adnan."  We would call his son the same thing if he were here, and we would have called his father as "Mister Adnan" as well. He therefore says, "His name is compatible with mine, and his father's name is compatible with my father's name." That means they are equivalent and the same. How can that be? This can only be with their surnames, as surname is what one addresses people by. That is said by Hazrat Ali(ra). He addresses our Prophet(saas) as ;  "The Prophet Mustafa Adnan, the Mahdi".  We can therefore see that interpretations stating that the name would be Ahmet, Mahmut, Muhammed and Mustafa are not accurate. But the name our Prophet (saas) gave him, the name he gave him at that time is "Mohammed," that is the name he gave to the Mahdi. Our Prophet (saas) also gave him the name Ahmet. He gave him these names but kept his true name concealed. That is what we see from this hadith. Insha'Allah.
