ADNAN OKTAR: Destiny. Actually we explain it in a very plain way. Look we say that the thing called 'a moment' is an infinitely short time. For instance it is not one in a million of a second, nor in a trillion of a second, nor in a quadrillion of a second. How many of a second? Nothing of a second, meaning it's in the shortest time. It is the shortest unite of time. It is the infinitely short unit of time, look, within the infinitely short unit of time Allah created and finished the infinite before and the infinite after. All has ended. We call this, I mean the fact that there is no time, destiny. Time is created afterwards. Time and place are created for us. For Allah, there is no time and place as it's created afterwards; so everyhing has happened and ended within a single moment. Then destiny is bound to occur anyway. So partial will power, total will power, the thing they call accident and everything have happened and ended within that moment. However it might be good to explain time shortly for those who don't understand, but in brief this is what it is. When one knows this, he would understand destiny as well. For Allah to know something, for example for Allah to know your personality; we say that "Allah is testing us" right? Allah does not test someone and understand afterwards; He does not understand something through testing. Allah already created it Himself in the infinite past and it has ended. Allah shows it to us. It is us who are bound with time, I mean Allah shows us who we really are. Or else Allah is not a deity in need of testing and trying. Allah is infinitely Mighty, insha'Allah.
PRESENTER: But we are not talking about a Creator Who leaves us with no willpower?
ADNAN OKTAR: We have willpower but everything that we do with our willpower is in our destiny and we had done and finished them off within a single moment. Of course we have willpower, for example we talk and we do so by our will power.
Let me not say deity, I meant The Lord. The Lord, insha'Allah. The fact is Almighty Allah is The Lord but if we use the word deity, it may be misunderstood. So it's best to say "the Lord." Let's not call it the best but this is what's right. May Allah forgive. People use the word 'deity', the word "god" very commonly. They use the word "god" especially for whatever reason. They have a tendency to use it.
OKTAR BABUNA:They avoid to say Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR:Of course. We must directly say "Allah", "Our Lord". We should use the exact wording.
In short, the truth of the matter is that there is no need to explain destiny at length and even if we did, it would not be understood anyway. But it's enough to know that there is only one single moment. Everyhing is created in a single moment. Then they would understand everything. Otherwise, even if they read at length, when we ask them sincerely, it is seen that they didn't understand. I ask; "What did you understand?" He doesn't understand anything, even though he had read it for hours. This is because it's really not possible to understand it that way. The best method of understanding this is to know that everyhing has been created and done with, within a single moment. For example, now we are talking here at length but before your father was born, before his grandfather was born, you had talked all these here. It had all happened and ended within a single moment. But we are here with our own will. It seems like you have written to your book, like you are thinking with your own free will. If you go back to your childhood, if Allah turns you back and you are reborn, you would ask the exact same questions. Nothing would change.
