Excerpt from Adnan Oktar's Live Interview at Kahramanmaras Aksu and Kackar TV on May 13th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: Some of our brothers wrote to me in a remonstrant manner about Mahdism. "Master, you are accusing us of lying, why do you say that?" First of all, I'm not using the word "liar" directly. It appears to be a little harsh to me. Recently, I let slip a word like that and I immediately corrected it. I say that they don't tell the truth. In fact, it has the same meaning but I'm not using that word. Now look, if the Risale-i Nur Collection is examined carefully, the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is very clear. For example, I used to acquiesce people accepting Bediuzzaman as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) or the collective personality as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) in that time, out of their love for him. But when one looks honestly, sincerely to the Risale-i Nur, it is understood that Bediuzzaman is talking about something extraordinary. I mean he is not talking about a blurred, incoherent, obscure matter, he is talking very explicitly. There is an individual called Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), he has a community and this individual is apart from the circle of Risale-i Nur. However his specialty will be that he will benefit from Risale-i Nur. For example, look at what Bediuzzaman says, "I believe that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who will come in the End of Times will also appreciate the Risale-i Nur." That means, it is a separate movement. Look: "I believe that Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) who will come in the End of Times will also appreciate the Risale-i Nur." So he says; "I hope that he will have the deserved appreciation for the Risale-i Nur." That's how it will be anyway. "It is understood from this that the blessed person who will come in the End Times –that is the Mahdi- will disseminate and implement the Risale-i Nur as a ready program," Okay. These are clear. He gives a date and he is saying that he will come. In the same way, he says that the Prophet Jesus (pbuh) will come. It is time for them to give this up. I mean, they are to approach this matter sincerely. They are to say; "Yes, Bediuzzaman is really talking about Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). He is talking about his coming. He is also talking about the coming of the Prophet Jesus(pbuh)." They can say, "We didn't see," it is a different thing. They can say, "He told so, but he didn't come." It is a different thing. Allah knows whether or not he came. That is because Bediuzzaman says that it can be known through the luminance of faith. I mean it is not something that could be directly known. He says that "not everyone will know it distinctly." See what knowing distinctly means; to know it for clear and publicly. He says not everyone will know. But when? "In the commencement". He uses an Ottoman Turkish word that means in commencement, meaning in the beginning "it will not be known in the beginning." Does saying this mean that it will not be known in the end either? Why does he use that word? He especially uses that word. Look, "In the commencement, that individuals of the End Times are not generally known" he says. He will not be realized by the public. He says, "Maybe he can be realized with the luminance of faith in the beginning." But in the end, everyone will realize Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh). Therefore, our brothers should not say that’s how it came to us and it will go on like this. Let them be sincere. They can say: "Yes, this is correct as an open meaning. This is true as a clear and explicit meaning. But we can't see him now." They can say this. There is no problem with that. But it would not be suitable to try to contort, hide and not to tell the truth.
