Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview at Kocaeli TV on May 21st, 2010
PRESENTER 1: "As-Salam my blessed Master."
ADNAN OKTAR:Alaykom As-Salam.
PRESENTER 1:"I am talking to my friends using what I have learned from you. But there is a very important subject that they don't understand and I'd like to ask you Master. It is not acceptable to know the good pleasure of Allah and not do the most of it. But the people that I have talked to have an understanding like "I can live my regular life and also follow the good pleasure of Allah." What kind of differences will there be between living for the good pleasure of Allah and the life they are living now? They can't realize or understand this. How can I explain this difference?"
ADNAN OKTAR: A reasonable person cannot live a happy life without loving Allah, anyway. One can't live comfortably without completely submitting to Allah, without having Allah as his Only Beloved One, I mean if he is a deep thinker. But if he thinks in a shallow way, then he is like a drunken person. His love is not like love anyway, his life is not like life; he lives like dead, without any peace. He doesn't know what he is doing; he is senseless. He doesn't know what he is talking about or what he is living. When we ask, he says "I'm not happy," anyway.
PRESENTER 2: There is no one whom he can trust.
ADNAN OKTAR: Of course. He personally states, saying "I am not happy, I am not happy at all". May Allah forbid; he even considers suicide.
Those people use drugs and some drink every day. You ask "Why do you drink?" He says "I am drinking to forget. I am drinking to ease my pain". Is this happiness now? A person who completely submits to Allah lives a very peaceful and beautiful life. Of course, we don't submit to Allah in order to live a peaceful and beautiful life. We submit to Allah because we love Allah and for the good pleasure of Allah. We do so because this is how it really should be, because we really do love Him. That is because since He is the One Who creates all beauties; our love to all beauties is actually towards Allah.
