ADNAN OKTAR: For instance, we said that our brothers said that the borders have been lifted. They are coming here from Damascus for instance and our brothers go there too. Ertuğrul Özkök from Turkey, for example went, he went on the pilgrimage. He had photos of himself sitting on the cold stones and then he came back. Many people have gone and returned. They have been coming here from Damascus and the Arab states for many years now. Sarıyer in Istanbul was full of our Arab brothers at one point. People used to rent their houses out for them. Some damaged the houses. There were people in flowing robes, with pot bellies around. Talking in loud voices, seeing everything interesting for instance, they were buying sweet pastries and eating them in appetite. My brother, we are not looking for such a system. This has already happened, that is not the case. What we are talking about is a divine metaphysical system, based on moral values of the Qur'an, moral values of Allah. In other words, a divine system that will emerge with the coming of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the Prophet Jesus(pbuh). Otherwise if you just open the borders up everywhere will be like Syria, or Jordan. What is there in Jordan now? It will be exactly the same. Everywhere will be like Syria is now. Nothing will happen just by opening the borders. The electricity it has, the soul, the reason and conscience in it is essential. Faith is very important. China is currently as open as possible. Everywhere is open. Russia, too. The Russian Empire still exists in Russia. The Turkic states are practically under its control. And what is happening? Russia is in a terrible state and so are they. Everyone is miserable. Nothing will come of it. There are people killing themselves and drinking vodka. Our Arab brothers also love enjoying themselves. For instance, people from Saudi Arabia go to Europe and start drinking whiskey, have women dance for them in London and other places. They buy football teams. I consider the good ones free of these of course, there is no need to repeat this all the time. I am only referring to certain visible cases. I of course consider all good people free of these. There are many genuine, honest people, and I consider every honest and genuine person free of all these I have said. Let me not say it on and on repeatedly. They go and buy a football team, or go and buy derelict buildings there and hold parties for the British people with alcohol and thus satisfy their complexes. People who wander around in black chadors in their country, turn into totally different people elsewhere. People who pray five times a day at home, totally abandon it there, get blind drunk and wander around like that. There is such an odd and dishonest climate around. This is a system that stems from the absence of the system of the Mahdi. I mean this lack of discipline stems from the canceration of body that is not connected to a brain. Its arms and legs move totally independently. I mean, all body parts act in conflict with one another. The organs of the body do not serve the body but harm it instead. The arm hits the head for example, while the leg hits itself against the floor. A very confused system arises. More or less every part behaves according to its own impulses. Satan is trying to diminish the system of the Mahdi in people’s eyes. As if it is something worthless and unimportant, or as if it has already come and gone or as if it has no importance even if it comes. "He is the Cehcah" they say, or "someone named Kahtani will come, that is what is meant by that" they claim. In other words, they claim that he is any one of Badiuzzaman’s officers. That he is just an ordinary human being. They are even unwilling to mention his name. They say it is not important if it happens or not. You may as well go and shout it in the streets. Allah will make you shout it in the streets, though you will obtain no results. There can be no action against what Allah wishes. In other words, I am not talking about an economic or military union. We are a member of NATO, but that is not something that makes us happy, to be a member of NATO. There is nothing about an economic union that would bring happiness. So what if the European Union lets us in. Will that make us happy? We would be happy because of our faith, but not because of anything else. There is nothing there, what would the EU do to us anyway?

PRESENTER: I’m sorry, but why are we so keen to join the EU?

ADNAN OKTAR: In any case the European Union is of course a good thing, I mean to be in contact with the Europeans is a humane goodness.  We like Europeans, we like them as people. We feel compassion for them. Of course we would want to make use of their technology and scientific advances. But they would not offer us food and drink and entertain us for nothing. That would not happen. They are already asking for benefits from us, it is not their will. That is why they have already developed an allergy and are uncomfortable. They suppose that we will want something from them, that is how they think. But we have no such intention. We will look after and feed them anyway.
