Excerpt from Adnan Oktar's Live Interview at HarunYahya.TV on June 24th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR:Darwinism is an invitation to suicide. A person who knows Darwinism, tendency to commit suicide comes to the highest point. Because you say that life is something completely empty. You say to that man; "You are something like a bug. You were a little bug, you grew and grew, you looked like a plant, you looked like a tree; you turned into an animal. You became a human being through coincidences. You are nothing. You formed out of muddy water. You developed in a muddy environment through coincidences, you grew up and you will die and be destroyed for all eternity." See that you say; "You will vanish for all eternity." Then the man says, "Then I don't need to wait. Since I will be destroyed for all eternity, I don't need to wait to die. Let me die now then." He says, "Since life is so meaningless and so purposeless, since the world is a place of war, since there is only struggle then what will I do by living? What is the purpose of the world then?" Right? Then his mother and father don't mean anything to him. His brother, sister or his loved one that is the one who is his legal wife have no importance for him; love and passion have no importance for him. Eating and drinking have no importance for him. The sea is terrifying for him. When he looks at the sea he says, "The sea is a good place to commit suicide."
When he looks at the sky he says, "Jumping down from a high place would be good to commit suicide." Nothing else comes to his mind. Everything reminds him of death and of vanishing. He has no human love and he becomes irritated by people as he would see them as creatures and would get disturbed. Insha'Allah. However, if you say, "Allah created" and say that Allah surrounds him, that he carries Allah's soul and introduce him to this fact and if he sincerely realizes that he is truly a metaphysical being, then he experiences the joy of love and passion. He experiences the joy of life, his brain cells open up, all his cells make a celebration. His whole body makes a celebration. Because Allah created us like this normally. We are created in a way that we can only live normal when we have faith. We are created in a way that we would die if we don't have faith. Our body attacks us when we don't have faith. We would get into depression and become mentally ill. May Allah forbid. So the man prefers suicide in the end. But someone who holds onto faith finds relief, prosperity, richness and beauty. He experiences real love and real passion. He falls in love with flowers, with insects, with birds, with people and with everything Allah has created.
