ADNAN OKTAR:Religion should not be used as a political tool; that is true. But that should not be perceived as a necessity for a politician to keep a distance from religion at all costs. I mean, to claim that a politician should not speak of Allah or the Qur'an or should be careful not to make anyone feel in any way that he is a Muslim would be a totally different matter. What is that all about? Right? That would be an entirely different life style. He would be a completely different person. If a politician genuinely believes, he will say he believes. For example, he will start a speech by saying, "Bismillah.." If he is not allowed to do so, what else should he say? Start with his own name? Of course he will start with the name of Allah. And when he likes a thing, he will say, "Masha'Allah." What else should he say? Right?

OKTAR BABUNA:Yes.

ADNAN OKTAR: So these two should not be confused. I mean, using religion as a political tool and thinking that a politician has the obligation to portray himself as irreligious; neither of them are acceptable. If he is a devout believer he will say; "La ilahe illa Allah Muhammadan Rasullullah." Why should a politician not say that? Right?

ADNAN OKTAR:What kind of a logic is that? However this is a sensitive point, of course. That is because there is a sort of legitimacy in that. I mean while practicing secularism, it should practiced rationally. He must say, honestly, "I am a Muslim." But people will see if he is being dishonest and using it as a tool. But he can make his religious belief felt, that is a good thing. For example, Deniz Baykal used to go and pray with his grandchildren. What else should he do? Go and pray in secret in a blacked-out car? Should they draw the curtains in the mosque so nobody can see him pray? Of course he will do it all in the open. Isn't that right? Kılıçdaroğlu, for instance, well done to him, I really liked very much what he did. He reads the Qur'an and recites the Surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs. How excellent. Masha'Allah.
