Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's live interview on Kocaeli TV dated May 7th, 2010
Adnan Oktar: Today in the afternoon, I have turned on a TV channel. There are very popular marriage programs on almost every channel. Oh Allah, our Lord! I walked around, sat down, had dinner, came back and it was still on. Uncle Huseyin, let's get you married. Grandfather Naci, let's get you married. Tell us how much does your assets worth? As-salamun alaykum - Alaykum Salam. What do you own? First tell us about that. I have a house and a garden. They say, "Okay. Now let's cut to the chase. Let's get to the real matter. You are safe on that ground." The real concern is this. For some of them of course, not all.
It is such a pity. They very rarely mention Allah in some channels. Very rarely. How can this be? I watched it like I was watching a nightmare and I froze right there. It was terrifying like a horror movie, very very horrible.
Presenter: Do you believe this? We collected signatures for these programs to be banned, for this yellow ribbon thing on the screen, back at high school. But we did not yet see them banned.
Adnan Oktar: What a pity. They do not know each other. He comes, As-salamun alaykum and alaykum as-salam. Do you have a house and a car? But my brother, ask him whether or not he believes in Allah, believes in the Qur'an?
Presenter: They only ask for a house and a car. Marriages are turned into convenience marriages. There is no love in them.
Adnan Oktar:Look, a woman said: I had a daughter and a man stabbed 30-40 times to death. She used to say, "This man is going to kill you." The girl said to her mother, "It does not matter." Brother, what kind of logic is this? In addition, people do not protect one another; I am very surprised at that. I mean, a girl is threatened; a man threatens to kill her. Normally they have to show a big reaction. This is a very big deal. So when such an application is made to the public prosecutor; if serious, I mean. That is because a girl can also make such a claim because she is irritated with someone and so she can say that he threatened her, just to disturb him. This is not so. That is only if there is a real threat and that is easily understood. It is understood from the appearance and character of the person.
It is also very easy to confirm that. Because you understand when you interrogate him briefly. Then procedures begin. They have to assign a policeman to protect her when there is such an application. There is a cautionary judgment as soon as the petition is given. Cautionary judgment.. A policeman should be given to wait on her door, that is it. And his every step has to be followed very carefully. He has to be harassed by following so that he cannot do it. For instance, lately a girl went to another city. She went to another city and a man followed her with a car and killed her with a chopping knife. That is something known, I mean the poor girl ran away to another city. What kind of business is this? How could the people there let this happen? She should be able to go to the leading people of the city and explain the situation. She will say "that is the situation; I am under threat." Then the police of the area will be alerted. Everyone will look after her. People there will also watch over her. I was really annoyed and got angry that this happened even though the condition of the girl is known. At the end of the day that is only one single man, how could this not be prevented by the leave of Allah?
Now I would have said many things but I do not want to say as it made me really angry. This happened for no reason when it was very easy to prevent. Not one or two, we hear it every single day. One comes out and says "I ask for her hand in marriage. She did not accept." Then he shoots her in the head and kills her. For example he was imprisoned for 8 years and then let go. As-salamun alaykum; and that is it. "May you recover soon". For example she says "My daughter was extremely beautiful. She was tall and all." Is this not a sin? What kind of a logic is this?
