Excerpt from Mr.Adnan Oktar's live interview on Harun Yahya TV dated August 18th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR : Yes.. As-Salamun alaikum. -Alaikum as-salam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu- While talking to a Christian brother recently, he mentioned a subject; he said that the Gospel has not been changed and added: "While Allah preserved the Qur'an, did He not have the strength to preserve the Gospel?"What is your opinion about this subject? Isa Demirel, Holland.
Now, there is nothing over which Allah has no Might. The pages of the Prophets have been lost. None of them exist at the moment. The Book revealed to the Prophet Noah (as) does not exist. [Neither do] the Books, pages that had been revealed to former prophets. Many pages had been revealed, but none of them exist.
It is also Allah Who made them cease to exist. That is because constantly a new shariah [canon law] is revealed. When a new shariah comes, it replaces the former one, Insha'Allah. There is nothing to be surprised at this. For instance at that period Muslims were practicing Prophet Abraham (as)'s religion. They abided by the religion of Ibrahim (as) who believed in one Allah.
When Prophet Moses (as) came, Muslims abided by the shariah of Prophet Moses (as). They did not follow the shariah of Prophet Abraham (as). That is how it goes; the religion communicated by him and the one communicated by the Prophet Moses (as) were the same. Because they were the same, they were thus abiding by Prophet Abraham (as) as well.
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes, insha' Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: Right? But they were subjected to the Torah brought by Prophet Moses (as). They did not read the books revealed to Prophet Abraham (as), right? That is, they did not act by them. After Prophet Moses (as), the Gospel came and people acted according to the Gospel, not according to the Old Testament. After the Gospel came, the Qur'an; people acted in compliance with the Qur'an. Consequently they did not act by the Gospel. But the origin and essence of Old Testament, Gospel and Psalm already exist within the Qur'an. Therefore when those who want to abide by the Old Testament, Gospel, the Psalm and all prophets, abide by the Qur'an, they would be abiding by all of them. They would be abiding by the religion of Islam. Is that clear? Insha'Allah.
