Excerpt from Mr.Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on Kanal Avrupa dated August 28th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: He has no knowledge of the heart. Allah does not manifest on him with His name of "al-Hadi [The Guide]." He is not an erudite scholar of hidayah [guidance, attaining faith], nor the Mahdi of hidayah [guidance, attaining faith].
OKTAR BABUNA: Yes master.
ADNAN OKTAR: He does not possess the most critical characteristic. We can learn the Islamic law from anywhere. There are electronic devices as well, as I told before. You install that into the machine, for instance let us assume that you want to learn Muslim canonical jurisprudence, you upload the Complete Muslim Catechism of Omar Nasuhi Bilman on the machine and it reads that to you with a mechanical voice. Then that machine is more knowledgeable than even the best hodja. But do you know what that machine cannot do? It cannot guide you. It cannot be instrumental in guidance. It cannot be the manifestation of Allah's "al- Hadi [The Guide] " name. It cannot be instrumental in guidance. It cannot do that. It cannot address to the hearts. It does not have the light of guidance in the eyes. It does not have the tone of faith, of guidance in its voice. It does not have that manner of guidance. Once that man does not have that guidance, once he does not possess deep faith, once his faith is not any ascertained faith and once he does not possess true faith; what well does it do if he knows the Islamic law completely? In America there are professors of Islamic Canonical Law. There are such professors in Russia, in China. Those professors of Islamic law are straight atheists.
Those people are even more knowledgeable than this Beser of ours. Those are far more knowledgeable than him. But they are irreligious and atheist people and they cannot be instrumental in hidayah [guidance]. They are plane people. He who conduces to faith is called an erudite scholar. For example, Bediuzzaman says "...Allah will, no doubt, send AN INDIVIDUAL OF LIGHT as a JUDGE, as the greatest MUJDAHID [an Islamic scholar and leader who can bring in a verdict from verses of the Qur'an and hadith when needed], and a MUJADDID [a reviver and a great scholar who expounds the religion], and a COMMANDER, " see that he mentions a critical aspect here; " a MAHDI [the one who, by Allah's will, leads to faith], and a MURSHID [a guide to the truth] and a KUTB AL-ADHAM [the greatest guide to the true path] and he will be from Ahl al-Bayt [descend] of the Prophet (saas)." Being the Mahdi is a separate subject. The Mahdi (pbuh) conduces to faith. All those scholars and masters might get guidance from a person whom you least expect, whom you assume to have a very little knowledge as he is the Mahdi; he becomes an instrument in their guidance. This means that he becomes instrumental in the others' being saved from Hell and he becomes instrumental in their guidance. For example Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has innate sciences; the Mahdi who is awaited. Our Prophet (saas) says "He does not know Arabic very well." Right? He is the Mahdi of hidayah [guidance]. But he also is a commander, he is the greatest mujaddid and the greatest mujtahid as well as a judge. That is because he is a just and a rational person insha'Allah.
