Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview at Maras Aksu and Kackar Tv on September 9th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: Now Oktar, in the Qur'an, unbelievers, hypocrites and believers are mentioned but there is also a class in between -I will have a book study about them as well; there are those who have sickness in their hearts. These are a separate class. They are candidates for being a hypocrite and also for being a Muslim; so they are in between the two. It is revealed in the verse,"they stumble in between." So it is revealed that they stumble between unbelief and Islam and between being a hypocrite and being a Muslim. But their transition to Islam would be very easy. But they also are the potential base for hypocrites. I mean their transition to hypocrisy would be very easy as well; they are in between. There are very many verses in the Qur'an about them. Almighty Allah says; "Is there a sickness in their hearts?" Right?
For example, when the wives of our Prophet (saas) were slandered, those who have sickness in their hears fall into doubt. They are not hypocrites; they are Muslims but they are sick; they have sickness in heart. They are inclined; they investigate. Almighty Allah says, "Why.. did you not instinctively think good thoughts and say this is obviously a lie?" Right? That person does not. He says "Is it really true?" He says "I love the Prophet (saas) very much but is this really true?" This is a sickness.
For example, he raises his voice when he is with our Prophet (saas). They talk with loud voice. But here raising voice means giving advice; like talking pedantically. Right? The verse also points to this. That is because we see this in the other verses as well. This is also a sickness. However, look, Almighty Allah reveals another point of view in the verse; He evaluates this also from another perspective. Allah says "No, by your Lord, they are not Muslims until they make you their judge in the disputes that break out between them, and then find no resistance within themselves to what you decide and submit themselves completely." Now, "resistance", resistance is also a sickness. There must be no resistance. For example, there is no resistance in hypocrites. Hypocrites directly reject. Unbelievers directly reject. They have no such problem. But in a believer, there might be a "resistance" in his heart. For example, he feels a disturbance in the heart. He cannot completely submit to the messenger's word. He accepts but not by agreeing with him by heart. However, he has to accept by submitting by heart. This is also a sickness in heart. Look it is revealed in the verse in Surat al-Ahzab 12:
"When the hypocrites and people with sickness in their hearts" those two are separate. Therefore, it is going to be very nice to gather and collect my previous works about this subject into a book. Gather my previously taken notes about this subject. Let us collect these into a book. Look, "They were saying 'What Allah and His Messenger promised us was mere delusion.'" Now, the hypocrites say this with an intention to leave completely. Those who have in sickness in heart both think about this and say it when it is appropriate. But the hypocrite's purpose here is not to leave. They also mention their sickness. The purpose is to give disturbance and cause lack of disciple among Muslims. It is to destroy the respect for and confidence in the Prophet (saas). Therefore, it is to say "I am greater and better than you, but I will stay among Muslims but this is so you know your mistake." (Allah is beyond that) Understood? But the hypocrite would say "What Allah and His Messenger promised us was mere delusion." See that here it says Allah and His Messenger; however the hypocrite does not accept the Messenger, anyway. A believer might say this. The hypocrite can only mention this subject for publicity. Look, they say "What Allah and His Messenger promised us was mere delusion. "
So he made a false analysis, took us there for no reason, in a sense of saying (Allah is beyond that) "Do not do it again. Correct your mistake." Like "You are human. You can do wrong and look you made a mistake here." (Allah is beyond that) "And a group of them said, 'People of Yathrib, Your position is untenable so return!'" Look "And a group of them said, 'People of Yathrib, Your position is untenable so return!'" See, this is a statement of a definite hypocrite. It is over with that; there is a judgment here. This one says, for instance "he promised us was mere delusion" but he leaves it at that. There is no judgment here. But look, here, there is a judgment. He says "Return." Now, here he says "Return and do not listen to the imam." He is out of control. Here, it turned into a hypocrite activity.
"Some of them asked the Prophet to excuse them, saying, 'Our houses are exposed,'" these want to leave as well; so these are hypocrites as well. Allah says "when they were not exposed; it was merely that they wanted to run away." There is an act of running away here. There is no act of running away with those who have sickness in heart. He remains, he stays among Muslims. But there are always delusions in his heart. He is always pedantic and cannot decide. "If they had been overrun from every side, and had then been asked to revert to unbelief, they would have done so and hesitated very little about it."
This is the attitude of hypocrites. Because there is a target for a direct attack against Muslims. Look it says: "If they had been overrun from every side," now look when there is an attack against Muslims, those who attack generally prepare the backplane. One should be very careful about this. When there is an attack against Muslims, it is not right to give all attention to only one front by thinking that it only comes from there, since there are always attacks from second and third fronts. There is the front of media, of setting traps and of attacks. So hypocrites lay out a large ground for such attacks. Those who have sickness in heart are trying to give advice to the Prophet (saas) at that point. They talk pedantically and say "You made a mistake; correct it." They take advantage of that crowded moment and they address that. They pressure the Prophet (saas). But after the attack is gone and after seeing his strength, those with sickness in their hearts would calm down and become satisfied. Look: "If they had been overrun from every side" so there can be attacks from every front to Muslims; one must be very careful about that.
They might go on simultaneously with an economical attack and something else as well. One has to be very careful about that. Then look, "If they had been" this is the second phase, first they enter, there is an attack here. "And had then been asked to revert to unbelief," now mischief is completely different. They have to do a separate work for mischief. Mischief is generally done to ease a break up but the imam is made the main target. Meaning the Messenger is the target. Because, after his unreliability is emphasized, the rest is easy for them. The issue is to emphasize his unreliability. So they have a mentality as such:"he made a wrong calculation; he thought wrongly; his commands here were also wrong and this was also wrong. We want to do you good. Therefore, do not be insistent on your mistake and return." But those who have sickness in heart also repeat this but they do not take action. Look: "they would have done so and hesitated very little about it." Look, these are determined; so these are hypocrites. Those with sickness are hesitative and doubtful. They are in doubt; these cannot decide..
