Excerpt from Live Interview with Mr. Adnan Oktar by Harun Yahya TV (27 September 2010)
ADNAN OKTAR:Our brother says; "Master, you've said 'I do not believe that I have free will.' Insha'Allah I've related it accurately. Does this statement lead the way to such a rationale for those engaging in wicked deeds? 'If All Mighty Allah wills, I don't do anything bad; Allah makes me do them, I am not to blame for that.' Can you expand on this statement? Isn't the free will our will or, Allah's Will for us because He knows that we will want it; and Divine Will is the way Allah creates? May Allah protect you."
My dear brother. How modest he is, masha'Allah. And his style is very beautiful. Now, I've read this message of my brother. Who did this act? Allah did. Who did Allah make instrumental? He made me instrumental in that. Now, whether I wanted or not, I would still read this message, insha'Allah. Notice that all of the events that will occur until the Day of Judgment, people do them willingly, by their own free will. But all of these have happened and are over in Allah's Sight. Let me state it like this, they might understanding it better this way as this is a point that should be paid attention. This infinitely short time; a moment. This is the name of moment, infinitely short time. Within infinite short time, infinite past and infinite future are created, and they are all over. Now, where does "free will" exist here?
OKTAR BABUNA: There is none insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: All right; while a person does that, for instance, if he is curious about it, he goes and asks to an unbeliever, "My friend, are you in difficulty to do that; is there any pressure upon you?" He answers, "What kind of a speech is this! Of course I do them myself." For instance, we ask to a Muslim brother: "Is there anyone right now who forces you to perform your prayers?" He would say: "No. I do so willingly." At that time, you do so with your free will. All right, is this an incident which has occurred and is over within a moment? Within infinitely short time? He would say; "Yes, it has happened and is over in infinitely short time." Then what happens? Right? It is Allah Who creates both the free will and the Divine Will. It is Allah Who creates the kind of will we call "free will" and the Divine Will. When one says, "Allah created the Divine Will and I create the 'free will', '' he would simply be abandoning the religion. [This means] that person claims divinity. Allah creates both the free will and the Divine Will. Notice that it is infinitely short time; within infinitely short time, Allah finishes the infinite past and infinite future. It is all over. That is it.
Oktar, what are you preparing right now?
OKTAR BABUNA: I am trying to find the verses about destiny, Master insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: Okay, insha'Allah.
For instance our brother says, "If Allah wills, I do not engage in these wicked deeds. It is Allah Who makes me do these." This already exists in the Qur'an. The verse states that the unbelievers say: "These happen because Allah wills so." Right? And All-Mighty Allah answers him in the verse. Allah says: "Of course, by the will of Allah." But Allah says that they are lying; that is that they defraud, because there is no one at that moment who forces him. For instance we talk here; I do not feel under compulsion. Do you feel obliged right now? Is there any compulsion about the way you speak?
PRESENTER 2:No, Insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR:Do you feel anything like that?
PRESENTER 1:No, Master.
ADNAN OKTAR:All right, we do them with our free will. My saying "We do them with our free will", is in the past now. The last moment I said, "We do them with our free will"; I said it before I was born from my mother. I told them even before my mom and dad were born. Still before the mud Prophet Adam (as) was created from was shaped, I had already said that. That is I have said this even before the Prophet Adam (pbuh) was created.
OKTAR BABUNA: Insha'Allah Master.
ADNAN OKTAR: But I said it with my free will. That is the issue. But if they still couldn't comprehend it, they may again ask it to me, Insha'Allah.
