ADNAN OKTAR: In the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as), before his appearance, it is stated that in the Torah, the Book of Joel12 people will lose their joy. It is said, "Surely the people’s joy is withered away."That is, joy will be removed. It is said that before the appearance of Hazrat Mahdi (as), "People will not be happy." It is said, "All joyful sounds are banished from the earth" (Book of Isaiah 24: 11) "All joys turn to gloom" because the roots of joy and exuberance is the love of Allah. Once love of Allah is absent joy remains meaningless. In this case why would you have joy? Why would you feel joy? You both do not love Allah and have not heard of him but you feel exuberance, right? Why would you feel joy, as if there is something for which to feel joy? Insha'Allah.

In Book of Joel 1:9, it is said, "The priests are in mourning, those who minister before the Lord." In the Torah Allah draws attention to their despair.  It is said that in the time of Hazrat Mahdi (as) "they will also despair."

In the Talmud, on the other hand, in the Chapter Abodah Zarah 5a it is said that "King Messiah (Hazrat Mahdi (as)) will come when all spirits in the worldly bodies will fall exhausted". That is, "Spirits will fall exhausted." There will be exhaustion. Spirits will fall exhausted; that is, they have no joy, no exuberance. Life has come to a stop, economic crisis has started, suicides have started, people have been caught up in to drugs and drinking. Hazrat Mahdi (as)  will come when spirits will feel exhaustion.

Isaiah 24:18-20: "(Before King Messiah comes) the foundations of the earth shake.. the earth is violently shaken. The Earth reels.., it sways like a hut in the wind." There will be earthquakes on and on.

Isaiah 13:13:  "I will make the heavens tremble; and the earth will shake from its place.." Allah states that something will happen in the heavens as well. Insha'Allah.

Joel 3:19 : "..in whose land they shed innocent blood" before the King Messiah appears. Notice that it is said; "innocent people’s blood will be shed." It is said, "Blood will be shed", blood of innocent people..
