Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview by Gaziantep Olay TV on October 12th, 2010
OKTAR BABUNA:There is a news item in Radikal daily by Ahmet Insel, Master. He used the headline "Sunni assimilation". Lately the obligatory religion lessons at schools are being discussed a lot in the National Assembly and Ahmet Insel wrote about this subject stating that our Minister Mr. Celik is against the abolition of the religion lessons and that he doesn't even enter into a discussion about this subject. He said the following; "Under these conditions would it be unfair for the Alawites and for those who do not believe in religions to claim that their children are being tried to be assimilated into Islam and Sunni creed through obligatory religion lessons?"
ADNAN OKTAR:My brother, I have explained this before; Alawism, Sunnish, Bektashism, all of those should be taught. I mean, my brother those are main subject matters. These are matters that dominate life. What is left anyway? Religion, art and science.. What else is there? People need to be trained in these three subject matters; they should be trained about art, about religion and about science. There are three main subjects and all three should be given time predominantly. Art is very important as well. People do not attach importance to arts either. I mean no artists are brought up, no scientists are brought up. Great importance should be attached to science, but to real science not the fabricated one. Youth should be taught the most advanced, the most correct and true scientific data. This should be taught to everyone including the elders.
