Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on Kackar TV dated December 7th, 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: A brother of ours has written to us. This is from Enes Avci. He has stated that the books that I have written consist of quotations from works of American scientists. My brother, where were we to quote from? America, Russia, China, Europe, Korea, Iran.. Quotations are made from those places; where else are we to take them from? When a scientific study is done, where is it taken from, for instance where does Turkey take, where do all scientists take these studies? It is not like the aliens will come from the outer space and deliver scientific developments, of course people will take the advancements from those places. That is such a foolish and silly statement to make; to say he has taken this from the Americans or from the French, from the English. For instance a paleontological study has been conducted and the facts about that have been announced. Or there is a study about the chromosomes. For instance the man has taken photographs with an electron microscope and brought it. Those photographs are taken by the Americans. So what? "Those cannot be used". Who should take them then? Is it acceptable if an Egyptian does that? You wouldn't accept that either. That is so very foolish and silly. Our Prophet (saas) says; "seek knowledge even as far as China". We will take knowledge wherever it is. Our brothers should not act upon the words of those senile people whose brains are clogged by smoke. Right? They should act according to the opinions of those whose brains are refreshed by the light of faith. Of course you are to take from resources.. I, for instance, take the works of Bediuzzaman as a resource in religious matters; from the works of Imam Al-Ghazzali, Imam Rabbani and above all else I take from the hadiths. Am I to receive revelations? Of course I am to take knowledge from the resources, where else am I to take? Right? First and foremost from the Qur'an. And when there is a scientific study of course we will take from them; if it is done by an English scientist, we will take it from him. If it is done by an American scientist; we will take it from him. If it is a historical study, if that man had conducted it, if it is correct; on the condition that it is accurate, we will take it from him. If there are mistakes in it; then we explain the mistakes made scientifically. The important point here is that it should be accurate.
