ADNAN OKTAR:For instance what are we doing at the moment? We are trying to establish a connection with the Christians. We are trying to keep in contact with them. We are in contact with the Jews. We are explaining the truths of Islam and the Qur'an. Right? We are trying to make them love Islam more. We are showing them that Islam is a religion of peace and a religion of love. We do say that we do not approach the Christians and the Jews with the logic of slaughtering them, with hatred saying "they will hide behind the mountains, behind the rocks and you will slaughter the ones you capture" but that we approach them with compassion, with the intention of providing protection. That is a fact. Who has done this like this; our Prophet (saas) did. Where do we understand that from? We see this fact when we look at the history of Islam. That is because our Prophet trusted the Christians and he sent Muslims to immigrate to their land. Muslims have immigrated to their lands. My brother, why did they not go anywhere else but to the land of Christians? They have regarded them to be trustworthy and close to Islam. What does Allah say in the Qur'an: "You will find the people most affectionate to those who have faith are those who say, 'We are Christians'." What does this mean? This means that they are potential Muslims. Jews as well are potential Muslims. Consequently we need to approach them with compassion, with mercy and with the soul of a protector. What did our ancestors, the Ottomans do? The Spanish government intended to slaughter the Jews in Spain. They immediately sent big ships over there, filled them with our Jewish brothers and brought them here. It is one thing to be brothers for this world and another to be brothers in religion. Of course we are not brothers in religion. But we are brothers for this world. It is one thing to be friends in religion and to be friends for this world. We are friends for this world with them. To be friends in religion, complete conformity in religion is required. It has to be the same. I mean it should be one to one the same. That is because we should perform our prayers together, we should fast together; we should be abiding by the same religious rules and abide by the same belief. Yes.. But we would approach them friendly and brotherly with compassion so that they would love Islam and love Muslims. One should not approach them with hatred and grudge. Insha'Allah.
