But in your recent discourses you have stated that he will have nothing to do with politics. Could you please set this clear as I am confused. That is because I think I can guess who the Messiah (pbuh) is; but he does have a political power. With respect and love. Metin. " You can guess who he is.. Allah Allah, Messiah? He can guess who he is? Messiah? Has he got confused? Mahdi-Messiah? As for the Mahdi (pbuh), Bediuzzaman says that he doesn't get involved with the politics. The real duty of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is love, compassion and mercy.  But love has an impact on politics. How does it affect it? It brings about honest politics, reasonable politics, it brings about merciful politics. It has an influence on the courts. The courts become more honest; they become more perfect they become better, they become full of love. It would have an effect on trade; honesty comes upon the trade, it becomes more candid. That is the content of his impact over the politics. Or else changing the regimes, changing the system, Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) does not have such a duty. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)'s duty is to give them the good morals and love; it is to teach them compassion and mercy. For instance if a politician is cruel; that cruelty will be erased and love will prevail in his heart and he will start to look with compassion. For instance if a politician is after his own interests, he will feel fear of Allah and quit being after his interests. Because he will have good morals; he will use all his means for the public.  The effect Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) will have over the politics is in that sense. I mean he will not be in politics directly. Changing the regimes, changing the politics; Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) has no such problem. That is because "there is no compulsion in religion," and people can adopt any faith they like. Insha'Allah.
