Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on A9 TV and Kackar TV dated April 27th, 2011
ADNAN OKTAR: Feeling great compassion towards Armenians, feeling compassion towards Jews, feeling compassion towards people from all religions is the basis. Humiliating them, telling them off, saying "you are not our brother, you -may Allah forbid- are not humans, you are infidels, we will crush you, etc." All these would be grave unjustness; that would be oppression. That is not acceptable. In the Qur'an Allah tells us to treat them very compassionately, kindly and beautifully. Moreover Allah tells us that we can take their hands in marriage, that we can marry them. There is a verse to that extent. Allah says that we can eat their food. What does it mean if you can eat their food? Would a person eat the food of his enemy? Right? If he is your enemy, he would poison you, he can put something inside your meal, may Allah forbid. Where could anyone see a person eating his enemy's food? Would a person marry his enemy? These are all made possible because we are friends and brothers. But that is of course not a brotherhood in religion. That is the friendship and brotherhood in worldly life. When one becomes a Muslim, when he says "la ilaha illa Allah Mohammed ar-Rasul Allah," he would become your brother in religion. But any other way he would be your friend and brother in worldly life. I mean if you confront a person saying "o you infidel, you cruel and o you barbaric!" would it be possible to spread Islam, would it be possible to talk about Islam. One needs to show love saying "you are my brother, you are my friend, you are my ally," he needs to be invited to Islam and the Qur'an. That one does not say; "I have become a Mohammedan" and we are well aware that he is not a Mohammedan. Right? That of course is not a brotherhood in religion but it is brotherhood in worldly life.
ALTUĞ BERKER: Master, may I give some examples about our Prophet's (saas) behavior towards the Jews?
ADNAN OKTAR:Yes.
ALTUĞ BERKER:After the hegira to Madina, our Prophet (saas) treated Jews very well and with his behaviors he showed that he is willing to get on well with them. He had called them on a common proposition. He preferred to agree with them on points that no absolute judgment from Allah is delivered to him. Up until the 16th month of hegira, he turned towards their kiblah, Bayt al-Maqdis while performing his prayers. After the hegira, when he found them fasting, he asked for the reason of it. And when he learnt that it is the day that Allah had saved the Prophet Moses (pbuh) and the children of Israel from the Pharaoh, he commanded Muslims to fast on the Day of Ashura. In line with a verse Allah revealed to him, he had given the Muslims permission to eat the food they slaughtered and to marry their chaste women. He told stories about the children of Israel from time to time and had not seen any harm on their being told. He had shown respect towards the funerals of the Jews that pass by him and stood up for them and he had recommended Muslims to do the same.
