Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on A9 TV and Kaçkar TV dated April 22nd, 2011
ALTUĞ BERKER: A Presbyterian church named Wasatch had donated 600 copies of the Qur'an to a bookstore and that bookstore started to distribute them for free as the donation of the Church. On the books they have written a note saying; "This book was donated by the leaders of Wasatch Presbyterian Church who are not afraid of truth wherever it can be found." Wasatch Church has made this donation to protest the act of the Florida pastor who attempted to burn -may Allah forbid- the Qur'an and thus expressed clemency between religions in a very nice manner, insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR: Actually the word clemency is not a nice word for that sentence. In fact it should not be used there. Clemency would mean someone did something abnormal and you show clemency towards that person by forgiving his offense and pretending not to understand or tolerating. There is nothing to tolerate. We just act according to the Qur'an. A Muslim acts according to the Qur'an. And if a Christian does that, if he makes such a beautiful act, that is a form of worship, it is not clemency. Defending the rights of Christians and ensuring a comfortable life for them is again not clemency, it is a command of the Qur'an, it is a command of Allah. I mean we are charged with protecting them and showing respect to their religion. We are charged with showing an effort to prevent their being harmed. We are charged with ensuring their freedom of worship. A Muslim could not be charged with preventing their worship, preventing their social life. Consequently, a Muslim would thus be performing his worship here.
ALTUĞ BERKER: Insha'Allah Master..
