Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's interview on Samsun Aks TV and TV Kayseri on 24 November 2010
ADNAN OKTAR: "My Turkish is not very good, so my apologies for that. I had a dream about you, insha'Allah. I dreamed I asked you a question." Look, here you are.. I said this just the other day. The man says; "Allah will reveal who the Mahdi (pbuh) is to you in dreams." This is a perversion. That is out of the question. In that case thousands of people would all stand up and say, "I am the Mahdi (pbuh), I am a prophet." And there would be the most terrible corruption. That is what has happened to date. Look, that happened with the Baha'i's, with the Ahmadi's and with our friend with the turban. Look, our brother here is doing the same thing. Insha'Allah, I will correct his words by explaining the matter but.. He says; "I had a dream about you, insha'Allah. I dreamed I asked you a question; if you become the Mahdi (pbuh) will you accept me as one of your soldiers, one of your followers? And you told me; "I will accept you as my follower, insha'Allah." Master, forgive me if I overstepped the line. My question is this; will Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) choose his troops by way of dreams?" Look, here it is.. The man insistently tells me; "no Master, you just do this, let them go to sleep and dream, Allah will show you the Mahdi (pbuh)." So, look here, this man says; "I dreamed of you." What are we to say to that? If this is accepted, then both sides would fall into disbelief, may Allah forbid. That is because they would be regarding it as revelation. You are effectively regarding the other person as a prophet. Because you are regarding the dream he sees as revelation.. You also would be making a claim regarding prophethood. It is unlawful to make a claim to be a Prophet. Right? Anyone doing so would fall into disbelief. Insha'Allah. He says; "Who are we to be the troops of Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh)? We are not even Qitmir, and Qitmir is far more immaculate than us. But we have hope, and we pray to be among his troops, insha'Allah. We pray to see the owner of time, insha'Allah. We insha'Allah will live to see Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) alongside our sheikh and sultan Sheikh Mohammed Nazim El Haqqani al Qubrusi. We have not seen our Prophet (saas), but insha'Allah we will see his grandson. Pray for us."
Yes, for instance this was nice.. Insha'Allah, we will all live to see that. But if you say you have dreamt that this person is a prophet and that person is the Mahdi, then you would be falling into disbelief. May Allah forbid..
ADNAN OKTAR:"As-Salamun alayqum." Alayqum as-salam wa Rahmetullahi wa Barakatuhu. "My Master Mohammad Adnan," he says; "I was embarrassed by my recent question. You cannot know how I blushed with shame. I wrote to you because I am only 20 and have no knowledge of my own, in the hope of benefiting from you, insha'Allah. Moreover, His Majesty Sheikh Ahmad Yasin recommended us to learn this subject, the system of the Mahdi, from you. I have realized that my dream was a devilish dream. Pray for us to grow in learning, insha'Allah. Insha'Allah, We will be among the friends of Allah, whom Allah is always well pleased with. With the intercession of our sheikh, insha'Allah. With the intercession of our Master Ahmad Yasin and Sheikh Nazim, insha'Allah. May you and my other Muslim brothers pray for me. I kiss your hands with propriety and apologize if I have overstepped the line. Believe me, I am truly ashamed. I wish I had not asked the question," he says. For one thing, his asking the question was certainly for the best. There is no question of that. And there is nothing to be ashamed of, he writes honestly and sincerely. I am just telling the truth of the matter. It is not a dream that is devilish, but the interpretation would be. I mean if we tell a person; "the person you saw to be the Mahdi in your dreams, is the Mahdi, of course that is Allah revealing you the truth ", then that of course would be the work of satan. But a person's seeing the one he loves in his dream is of course a nice thing. It increases his love, his affection. It is a sign revealing that he loves that person. It is a sign revealing that he respects that person. In that sense it is nice. But if it involves identifying the Mahdi, then that would be the work of satan. If one says, I have received revelation and identified this person as the Mahdi (pbuh), then that would be the work of satan. But if one dreams of a person and forms a good opinion of him, that is fine. It is a sign of love. A person might dream of someone he loves, and that is a good thing. It is an instrument for love. But we must avoid making satanic interpretations, insha'Allah. I mean that is not equivalent to revelation. It simply shows love; that is all. So Ahmet Yavuz, you can relax. We love you, too. Your language is most fitting, insha'Allah. But it is very dangerous for dreams to shape one's behavior. Saying that one had a dream that one must do something this way, is not acceptable. One might see in his dream that he had mistreated someone that one loves very much, he might see that he had spoken about him badly, or one might see an evil person as a very good person. Or one may dream that a normal person as quite extraordinary. None of these things are equivalent to revelation. One might dream someone bad as a good person, someone good as a bad person, or he might dream someone good as a normal, good person. We must not let dreams shape our behaviors. We cannot let dreams mold our decisions. We should give up doing such things. Because we must know for sure that dreams are not equivalent to revelation. Revelation is the Qur'an. There is no revelation outside the Qur'an, insha'Allah.
