ADNAN OKTAR: Mehmet Selim Polat says; "Muslims can never be united with Christians. Christians are polytheists, and polytheists are vile and filthy. The Prophet Jesus (pbuh) and the Prophet Moses (pbuh) and their books are true, and they were also Muslims. We can have no non-Muslim brothers for us to be united with. Christians are enemies to Islam. " My brother Mehmet Selim Polat, Muslims and Christians will be united, because the Qur'an says so. You must believe the Qur'an. The true faith, Islam, will become the only religion in the world with the coming of the Prophet Jesus the Messiah (pbuh). That means we will speak with Christians. We will have dealing with them and tell them of the faith. And they will accept religion, won't they? There will be a friendly, brotherly climate of conversation. They will see the beauty, gentleness and affection of Islam and how it is completely compatible with reason, and they will become Muslims. How can someone become a Muslim if one never meets or speaks to him? Therefore, when Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) appears he will forge an alliance with Christians who say, "La ilaha illa Allah," insha'Allah. We will therefore strive shoulder to shoulder with them. In the Qur'an, Allah tells us to call them to 'La ilaha illa Allah.' He tells us only to discuss matters with them in the very kindest way, and not to argue with them, doesn't He? The finest discussion. What is that? To call on them to say, "La ilaha illa Allah". And Allah tells us not to use any offensive language toward them. How does one call them to La ilaha illa Allah? By making contact with them. How can we call them to La Ilaha illa Allah without talking to them? We must establish contacts and talk to them, become brothers with them in "La ilaha illa Allah" and strive together against atheism, irreligion, Darwinism and materialism, Mehmet, my brother. Now, Marxists, Leninists and Stalinists want there to be fighting between Christians and Muslims. Because the Marxist mindset hates Islam. Marxism is opposed to Allah. Marxist thinking is hostile to Allah, may Allah forbid! They imagine that the cleverest thing to do in order to neutralize the lovers of Allah and eliminate belief in Him is to incite conflict between Christians and Muslims. If Christians fight Muslims, without Marxists getting involved, then they will immediately achieve their aims. And Darwinist, materialist thinking will rule the world through no effort on its part. But if Christians and Muslims are allies, they will establish a huge strength and Marxist, Leninist, Stalinist, Darwinist and materialist thinking will be annihilated. Which is true? What I am saying is true. What would happen if we did what Mehmet Selim Polat says? Marxists, Stalinists, Darwinists and materialists would get their way. We are opposed to that. We will not do it, and will not allow others to do it, insha'Allah.

ALTUĞ BERKER: Allah tells us not to take them as rulers. You have already clarified that.

ADNAN OKTAR:Of course we cannot have them as rulers, we would not abide by their belif. We would not abide by the beliefs of Christians. Everyone in Turkey are friends and brothers. People even call others they do not even know; "brother". They sit and talk with their friends in restaurants and places, their beliefs are very different. Some of those are atheists and they do not even know. For instance, a person has a neighbor and he will address him "Sir" when talking to him. He calls other "my friend, or my brother." People do not all check one another's faiths. And even if they did, even if the boss somewhere were irreligious, they would still call him "Sir." That is a form of address. Accepting someone's beliefs or moral values is completely different than being his friend and brother, isn't it? What I am talking about is the brotherhood of "La ilaha illa Allah". For example, there is a brotherhood of being from the same land, or from the same city, he becomes your fellow townsman. Right?  Insha'Allah. These are separate matters. We can see from the Qur'an that Christians and Muslims can marry. We can see that from the practice, from the Sunna of our Prophet (saas). And the Companions married many Christian women. They married Jewish women. How did they address their wives? As my sister, my friend, darling. They addressed them in the finest possible manner. And they shared the same bed and home and environment with them. They lived together till the end of their lives. My brother, Mehmet Selim Polat's language is very wrong. It has nothing to do with the Sunna of our prophet (saas) or the lives of the Companions, has it? Since he cannot respond to this; that means all those that he says are wrong, insha'Allah.

ALTUĞ BERKER:There are the words of our Prophet (saas) on this matter. With your permission, I would like to read them.

ADNAN OKTAR:Yes, please.

ALTUĞ BERKER:"There are accounts of Rasulullah [The Messenger of Allah] (saas) attending the wedding feasts of the People of the Book, visited them when they were ill and offered them gifts. During the visit of the Christians of Najran he spread his robe out for them to sit on. At the Prophet's (saas) recommendation, some of the Muslims exposed to persecution by the pagans of Mecca in the first years of Islam sought shelter with the Christian King Najashi in Ethiopia. The believers who migrated with our Prophet (saas) to Medina, lived together with the Jews in Medina and developed a model that would serve as an example to all later generations. In his treaty agreement he has had written to the Christian Ibn Haris and his co-religionists, our Prophet (saas) says; "the religions, churches, lives, honor and property of all Christians living in the East and West are under the protection of Allah, His Messenger and all believers. Nobody living as a Christian shall be forced to convert to Islam. If any Christian is exposed to murder or injustice, Muslims have an obligation to help him." He then adds; - I seek refuge with Allah from the satan- "Only argue with the people of the Book in the kindest way. And say, 'We have faith in what has been sent down to us and what was sent down to you. Our God and your God are One and we submit to Him'." He read verse 46 of Surat al-'Ankabut.

ADNAN OKTAR:Look, there is a call to the Oneness of Allah. If our Prophet (saas) regarded those people as vile, he would not have talked to them and spread his robe out for them to sit on, would he now? But Muslims migrated to them and regarded themselves as safe with them. And they did indeed protect Muslims, didn't they? They went to Najashi. He was a Christian, as were his tribe. The Muslims stayed a long time there. They ate and drank and lived in that environment. So one can share the food of People of the Book who say, "La ilaha illa Allah," and attend their weddings and marry them. My brother, Mehmet Selim Polat, is mistaken.
