ALTUĞ BERKER:For instance today Mehmet Ali Birand said "our life is conflict," in his headline. "Even the smallest argument can end up in fighting. Fighting means good ratings for TV stations. Commentators who fight become famous. Leaders engage in arguments. Artists and sports people, all fight. The most aggressive person is the one everyone talks about" he said. Also Can Dündar from Milliyet daily wrote an article stating that this anger should be eliminated and he repeated the things you have previously mentioned.  Just the same, Rauf Tamer from Hürriyet daily wrote that we should be talking about love and respect.

ADNAN OKTAR:That is really amazing. It has been only two days that I have explained this. I explained this a week ago as well. But they have only just woken up. Once we press on the issue comprehensively, it appears that they have honestly felt a wound in their conscience, felt pangs of conscience and they begun dealing with this urgent matter. This is not something that can be taken up once and then covered up. It is a huge scourge. A great scourge on Turkey, a big trouble. People are afraid of one another. Everyone knows what people fear. Our people fear specific occupational groups, they fear specific things. We must strictly avoid a model of society based on fear and intimidation.It is a great violation of conscience to frighten people. Fear leads to hatred. People hate what they fear. I mean people feel grudge towards those they fear. An indescribable hatred forms in the subconscious. For instance  such things  are also reflected towards the ones in power. I mean, when people are afraid, they bring those people whom they hope can free them from such fears, to power. The public was terribly frightened in the time of Adnan Menderes, for instance. They have been pushed to the corner and the public was at a loss about what to do. Eventually they turned to Adnan Menderes, saying that at least he would rescue them. Because he was more moderate. They brought him to power, thinking they would suffer less under him. Or else public knew nothing about Adnan Menderes or his abilities; in fact he was not a particularly talented person, Adnan Menderes. But they brought him to power because they saw a little love and affection in him, they saw protectiveness in him and thought that he might protect them.

ALTUĞ BERKER:Insha'Allah, yes.

ADNAN OKTAR: In fact, that is the reason why the [ruling] Justıce and Development Party (AKP) came to power. They brought them to the power thinking that they would protect Islam and the Qur'an, that they would protect Muslims and minish the climate of fear. Fear is a great, the greatest instinct in people. People support whoever eliminates fear. I mean those who show fear and violence, who manifest a bullying approach, who make a loud noise; those who show that they would add fear to fear, add violence to violence would eventually be completely defeated at the end of the day, let me tell you that. When our people see violence that would be engraved to their subconscious and they never forget violence. For instance look, the things they have implemented on us in the year 99 are not forgotten by our people. They may have remained silent and watched, but they have not forgotten. And that has been loudly reflected in politics. Ecevit lost, and all the others. But those people with the most influence lost the most, insha'Allah..

ADNAN OKTAR:But it is amazing that they add fear on fear, tension on tension. Human beings are created weak. We like love, friendship and brotherhood. People are horrified when they look at the newspapers. A speaker stands up and shouts and screams. That horrifies people. People normally do not like terror and violence. I mean only psychopaths like terror and violence, only abnormal people do. I mean think of a child. Put that child in an environment full of terror and violence. It is not in his nature. He will hate it. Why does Allah prepare us, those of us who are believers for Paradise? Paradise is the abode of peace. Because we will find peace and security and repose and kindness and affection there. Almighty Allah offers us paradise so we can enjoy that climate of security. We want a climate like paradise here on Earth. We want peace of mind and above all, we would want to trust the people we value. We would want them to be inoffensive and not-aggressive. I mean an aggressive person who attacks that person today might attack me tomorrow or someone else another day. We can never know when and what an aggressive person will do. One can never say he might attack that person not me. Because those with aggression in their nature will always find someone to attack. And in such an environment people would not feel safe. The most beautiful thing is [to show] compassion.. 

ADNAN OKTAR:Well, this is what I mean; things always revolve around spiritual and religious matters. The reason why Adnan Menderes came to power is that the public were devout believers. There was no other reason and because the public wanted freedom and love. Whoever offers our nation freedom, love and spiritual things, will come to power, let me tell you that much. But they will subconsciously hate anyone who brings out fear, terror and shouting. I mean in silence they would feel grudge, the grudge our people feel is kept in secret, that is for some of them. But others will make it clear. Some have no hatred at all. But that feeling would reflect on other things. By hatred, I mean an anger in the heart. The Turkish nation are very  calm and quiet, if you notice. Someone says he has been carried to power on a wave of approval. Then you look and he has collected very few votes, but he still thinks he is very popular. I mean through violence, oppression and through making scenes [he might think that he became popular].. For instance Sadettin Tantan thought he was a heroic figure. But our nation never forgot what Tantan did to us. And they brought him down. The percentage of the votes he collected is 0.0 something. Here you are, this is your reward. Once he founded his party, he thought that he had become a national hero because of the things he did to us. But he had become a national "something else".  I mean he turned out to be something quite different. And our nation has put him in his place..
