Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on A9 TV dated June 14th, 2011
ADNAN OKTAR: The Qur'an tells us the foundations of love. I mean the Qur'an does not only tell us to love. I mean for love, patience is needed for instance, sacrifice is needed, generosity is needed, vigilance is needed, protectiveness is needed, altruism is needed, right? A person could not live love with egoism and selfishness. An egoistic, selfish person would definitely lose love. An impatient person would lose love. An unforgiving person would lose love. I mean love would not be formed on its own. One should definitely make an effort, pay attention and be attentive. Like with a flower.. Love should also be protected just like you would protect a flower. Love would not come on its own all of a sudden. Love is not for a person's eyes and eyebrows.. Physical features might be spoilt, might be deteriorated, he/she might get ill, he/she might grow old and these could be spoilt in any way. A person's wealth could also be lost as well. But his/her faith and his/her moral values, meaning his/her morality stemming from faith is permanent. This would have a profound impact on one's soul. We would love that person because of this. Or else a person is not loved only because of flesh and bones. That is because with flesh, if you just bark the skin of a person, a millimeter beneath it is bright red blood. It is all red underneath the skin, I mean you would just have red flesh and fat, and nothing else remains. Consequently a person would not have anything to be liked that way.
