ALTUĞ BERKER:Mehmet Yilmaz from daily Hurriyet has said an interesting thing today. There was a recent article in the New York Times about ridding the body of toxins by drinking fruit juice, something like going on a fruit juice diet, he calls it.  And Mehmet Yilmaz gave other advice, saying, "if you want to detoxify your body drink beverages like wine or mojito." 

ADNAN OKTAR:What is a mojito? "Wine and mojito.." That would make a person drunk. How are they going to be detoxified by that? My brother, some of our people are really very pretentious. They do whatever Europeans do. Our Prophet (saas) says; "you would enter a snake burrow if you saw them entering one." He says that such a time will come in the End Times that people would imitate everything and will become very affected. It is not because they like wine. Wine or fruit juice. Look, even if wine were religiously lawful, would you prefer wine or fruit juice, say, grape juice? Well, when we have beautiful smelling grape juice.. It has a delightful smell, tastes perfect and is completely satisfying. Wine tastes sour, smells disgusting, makes one's breath stink, it is a thoroughly horrible thing. I mean it is a disturbing thing, right? And it contains methyl alcohol, a really dangerous form of alcohol. It makes one's head spin, causes stomach upsets and headache and impairs the concentration. For example, one sees the door handle somewhere else than it really is, the floor seems to be sloping. Now, what is the point in this?  What pleasure is there in that? No earthly pleasure at all. I mean, there are some things that earthly desires do enjoy and that one holds oneself back by using will power. But there is no need for any will power here, nothing that is at all pleasant. And also the biproducts.. There are so many toxicants in wine. For example, let us say we cook a beautiful eggplant dinner, meat with egg plant. But when it goes off, it turns into something horrible when it becomes stale. One wouldn't even want to see it while he throws it in the bin, it becomes very horrible. That lovely dinner turns into something utterly disgusting. Wine is the same, a lovely dinner that has gone off. And the toxicants that are formed in it.. there are some 200 or 300 toxicants like that in it if we were to count. Why on earth my brother? Why should I poison my body? Why destroy my liver? Why damage my brain cells? Why on earth? Those two prohibitions of Almighty Allah's are so wonderful.. Both the prohibitions on pork meat and on wine.. That is because both are severely harmful substances. What does alcohol do to the brain, to that tender human brain? To the liver? For instance, sometimes people develop an ulcer on their lips, or aphtous ulcers inside their mouths. They rub it with alcohol. Right? And what happens to that place? It turns all-white. Do you know why it turns all white? Because the epithelial cells there, the cells on the very top die. They all die, so it kills the cells. It is a poison that kills cells. The cell cannot resist it, cannot resist its toxicity, and it dies. It turns all white. So why should I drink it? I would not even drink it if it were lawful. Why should I? And Allah has made it unlawful. That is why one must be very honest on this subject, insha'Allah.

PRESENTER 2:Insha'Allah. Excuse me, but why is pork unlawful in our religion?

ADNAN OKTAR:I went to a shop the other day and looked at the meat there. There was a really odd thing there; a piece of meat four fingers thick, all covered in fat and with a strange color, something like purple mixed with pink. "What is that?" I asked. "Pork" they said. Even in its appearance it doesn't have any auspiciousness. I would not eat that even if it were lawful as even the appearance of it is horrible. But sulphur bound fat molecule chains are very large.. Many American soldiers died of infarction during the in Korea war. That is in official documents. There is a high level of infarction-related death in the American Army. But infarction is very rare among Turkish troops. Both are young men in their early twenties. Right? The levels should be equal. They researched it and found very high cholesterol levels because they eat pork. Pork meat has a horrible fat with a very high molecule chains.. Full of saturated fatty acids, so it is horrible. So it causes serious accumulations in heart cells and in heart veins and leads to infarction. There is also pork trichinosis, which is very difficult to identify. It settles in the brain and turns it into a capsule coated with calcium. And it either turns one mad or sends one blind or deaf, or else it kills one. And that trichinosis is only in pigs. You ingest that as you eat pork, at the same time. Why should one get into such a scourge? The molecule chains are bad and it smells and tastes horrible.. It smells horrible.. We do have lamb meat, mutton and veal that smell lovely. Or there is partridge and quails meat.. Allah has made them all lawful. I eat them, what could be the problem? Right?  Lovely lamb roasting on the barbecue, right? What do you think, Berker?

ALTUĞ BERKER:Insha'Allah Master.

ADNAN OKTAR:Insha'Allah. There is always goodness in what Allah has made lawful. For example, Allah has made adultery unlawful. That makes sexual power greater among Muslims, so they are healthier and more attractive. If it were free, their strength would decline. For example, in people who engage in relations day and night, in illicit relations, you would see that they all have a feeling of disgust towards sexuality, they all have an unwillingness and that makes them dispirited. But that power is very very strong among Muslims, if they are true believers, people with real faith. That is how it is. The whole world knows that. Allah creates that as a blessing. It also prevents subsequent generations going wrong. This way we have an immaculate generation, insha'Allah. Almighty Allah says in a verse; "Except from their spouses or those their right hands own." With the exception of one's own women, those women who give themselves to him or his wives. Any other illicit relations just make a person ugly and destroy a person's desire toward sexuality. It is harmful in all respects. But the real harm comes in the Hereafter, insha'Allah. That is why one must abide scrupulously by that commandment of Almighty Allah in the Qur'an, insha'Allah. The same is valid with all the other unlawful things, as well. For instance performing prayer.. Prayer as a religious obligation. Prayer is a wonderful obligation. One takes great pleasure in performing prayers. Prayers is very delightful. Because it is an observance that has been around for thousands or tens of thousands of years. How beautiful. An very old religious obligation and it has never changed. It is the same.. You perform the ablutions and that is glorious, and you pray and that is glorious. Because the ablutions impart great relaxation and delight. Right? Prayer also brings a delight; everyone has experienced that. Right? It bestows a wonderful contentment, masha'Allah.

But Allah knows the truth, there is also the scientific aspect. Of course, we do not pray for that reason, but, for instance, putting one's forehead on the ground produces a resistance to cerebral hemorrhage, in the blood vessels in the brain. Many people die from cerebral hemorrhage, because people are almost always upright. It is very rare for someone, for someone who does not pray, to put his forehead on the ground. What opportunity does he have? That is very rare. But a Muslim puts his forehead on the ground five times a day, and blood rushes to the brain. Since they do it regularly from early childhood the blood vessels acquire an enormous elasticity against sudden blood flow, blood pressure. The body is thus prepared against stroke. But the other way, the slightest effort, bending over to pick something up from the floor for instance, and there it is.. the brain vessel get punctured and that person suffers an instant stroke. I know that in many people that has happened to. Someone bends over half way and 'bang' a blood vessel in his head gives way. Because his head is not used to it, the blood vessels have not acquired that elasticity. The vessels rupture and he immediately dies of a stroke. There is such wisdom in it that I could go on forever. For instance, the way the hands touch the ground, the toes touch the ground, at the same time putting the forehead on the ground.. That release of electricity from the body; Almighty Allah has created all these with goodness and wisdom and it is a healing.. Prayer is at the same time a healing. It is a healing for both the soul and the body. People who pray five times a day become very fit and healthy, as a blessing from Allah. But of course we do not pray "to stay fit and healthy;" we worship for Allah's approval as a religious observance insha'Allah.
