Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on A9 TV and Kahramanmaras Aksu TV dated June 19th, 2011
ALTUĞ BERKER: Master, in one of your discourses you have said that "praying is the key to destiny." Insha'Allah. A large part of people see praying as if it is remembering Allah only at moments of hardship and difficulty after having tried every possibility at hand. But praying is an act of worship that should always be performed. The aim of this book [Prayer in the Qur'an] is to explain how close Allah is to His servant and what kind of a prayer He demands from them. Insha'Allah. I am reading a verse from the Qur'an regarding this insha'Allah. Surat Al-Baqara, 186, I seek refuge with Allah from the satan; "If My servants ask you about Me, I am near. I answer the call of the caller when he calls on Me. They should therefore respond to Me and believe in Me so that hopefully they will be rightly guided."
ADNAN OKTAR: A very sensible connection is required while praying to Allah. I mean praying is an important act of worship that ensures connection with Allah. Praying should not be done by memorizing but by thinking, by contemplating in a very sincere manner. It should be done in complete submission, inwardly, sincerely and what is more as defined in the verse, "humbly and fearfully," with love, with fear of Allah, with love for Allah. If we pray with a candid joy while the fear of Allah prevails in our soul, filled with hope, filled with good opinions, filled with that awe, it would be very good. It is a remarkably important act of worship.
