Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Interview on A9 TV and Kanal Avrupa, Çay TV and TV Kayseri dated April 24th, 2011
ADNAN OKTAR: "I am resending this mail but I have a suggestion; I suggest that a library be established on a 5-6 thousand sq meters land. This library can be called "The Library of Creation" with a section entirely devoted to your books and respective other sections to your videos, fossil exhibitons and their accounts, accounts of signs leading to faith. Moreover if this library were both in Turkish and English, it would also attract people from all over the world. In fact this is not a difficult task to accomplish. Everyone watching you would be pleased with it and support you to the best of his ability." Probably he says "help by heart." "This library can be established very rapidly by Almighty Allah's leave, Insha'Allah. May Allah help you." Sent by Islam Beycan. In fact I have a better idea, Islam. I say, a 10 thousand- 20 thousand sq meters library can be established in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir, Adana, Bursa and Samsun. Let's call it, "The Library of Creation." All of my books can be available there and free distribution of them can be done. Books can be brougth there by loads of trailer trucks and distributed for free. Signs leading to faith can be told. It would be very fine if books were made available in English, Turkish, French, German, Serbian, in about 70 different languages or 40 languages. I have a better idea, let me give you another fine idea. Bismillah, let's start. What do you say Berker? I have given a much better idea.
ALTUĞ BERKER:When it comes to advise, many people come out but when it comes to actually doing it.. Insha'Allah.
ADNAN OKTAR:You naughty child; how will it be financed? Who will accomplish these? Such issues are none of his concern. You can always come up with recommendations. Let's establish these libraries in Germany, Berlin, Munich, in the midst of New York; that is much better. Rather than waiting for Europeans to come here, we can go right there. In the center of New York, an establishment built on a land as great as 30.000 sq meters including also a mosque, Islamic social complexes, and a library in a giant building. Let's also construct an establishment in which guests can be hosted. An idea from me. Let's build one in Moscow, right? One in London? This somewhat resembles.. Let me rather not tell it. Master, send us some books! Granted, I will send. "Open a library, do this and that." You naughty boys, rather than giving me some recommendations, you do it yourself, right? If it is all that easy, how can this person accomplish all of these? How can one find the money, the resources? Look at the recommendation he gives me, right? Let's open one in Cairo, in the capitals of the Islamic countries. Let's do this. Let's do it so that we can see how it can be accomplished… Insha'Allah. Rather than doing it, you naughty boy, open a modest library in your home. Rather than giving advice to people around, serve in the way of Islam, or buy 10 books for the shop of a relative of yours or for a friend and render your services there. Even a child understands that a single person can not accomplish all of these. Are these easy tasks? Even the establishment of this television costed a lot; it is very difficult. You are talking through your hat, right? Are distributing books, communicating the message of Islam, working night and day, organizing conferences easy tasks? Rather than saying it, you better go and hire a conference room, a big one and then we can organize conferences. Is this an easy task? Conference rooms are quite expensive. It is very expensive to distribute books there. You need to think that we do not need any wisdom but people and support, right? Muslims need to support one another with alliance. They will cooperate. There is even no need to tell it to me. You can rent a small house, a small shop, and transform it into a gallery. A place where they can sell books and exhibit them. And no one can say anything to you, right? One can put it into his own shop. There is no end to such recommendations …I can also give such advices and there would be no end to them. These are all accomplished by money, means and people. We carry out our activities with a handful of people. I have a very small circle of friends. We struggle against a bad lot on one hand, the alleged Ergenekon terror organization on the other. I have so many trials, many cases are opened against me; I struggle against them respectively. There are some people around Cubbeli and I also struggle against them. There are irreligious people and we struggle against them respectively. There are a bad lot on the Internet, we struggle against them respectively. There are the communists, Darwinists and materialists, right? We carry out our activities in a thousand of areas, Insha'Allah. That is why rather than giving advice, rendering some services -albeit limited in scope- would be becoming. Indeed if one purchases an Atlas of Creation and present it to a friend, it would be thousands times more beneficial than the advice given to me Insha'Allah…
ADNAN OKTAR: They send us messages to make donations to various organizations. Now for the love of Allah, act with some conscience and think reasonably. There are hundreds of aid organizations in Turkey. There are the needy, the poor. Everyone writes and asks me to help someone or for the establishment of a particular mosque. Fine; granted but what are these activities, all these works? This association, that organization. I don't know but if I were him, I would consider the matter very rationally and conscientiously. A person who serves [Islam] with such devotion, who is a man of cause, who struggles to establish a TV channel, a radio station and distributes books for free…If I still ask for help from such a person rather than supporting him, then there must be a problem, an abnormality with me. Is this a conscientious act? On the contrary; while one can support such a cause with all his might and main, there is no end to those who give advice and ask for help. I don't understand what sort of an intellect, a conscience this is. I am someone who gets only three to four hours of sleep a day. I have not had a holiday for 30 years. I struggle to serve Islam for 24 hours a day and use every opportunity I get for the cause of Islam. In this case, shall I cease working on by books and my other activities and engage in helping these organizations? Is this something a reasonable person would do? Rather than supporting such an important cause with all his might, everyone asks help from me. I do not understand such a rationale. All right but how will it be accomplished? In how many areas can a person carry out his activities? Where can we find the resources and put them in use? Anyone encountering us demands help. All right but its resource are uncertain. [These people in question] assume that we have a non-stop working mint from which we obtain the money by baskets. Our friends also engage in commerce all day; they both communicate the message of Islam and work. We can only accomplish this. At this point they must be conscientious and wise. This is without rhyme or reason. We receive hundreds of requests for help. I don't understand how the foresight of these people are so limited. And the amount of these demands is not that little; they amount to billions. My brother, if we had so much might, we would establish a new channel and radio channels. We would distribute books. There is no end to the services we can make. It is fine; may Allah be pleased with him but I am astonished that they can not think this point. Who would not know to open a museum or an exhibition? Such activities demands a whole sum of money. We opened exhibitions even in kebab houses because we could not find places to open exhibitions. Are these easy to accomplish? At this point one needs to be scrupulous…
ADNAN OKTAR: They distribute the books in all corners of Turkey. Indeed we have distributed hundreds thousands of books. I feel astonished about those who give me advice on distributing books. Would I ever stop if I had the means? When I have a penny, I immediately spend it in the cause of Islam and the Qur'an. In the academy I received student loan. I thought to myself what to do with it. Quite a sum of money since it accumulated for a while. I said to myself that there is only one thing to do; to invest it in books. I spent the entire sum on books. I was again receiving the loan and spending them on books again. I was walking to the school; notice that I was walking. I was putting all the money on books. All the people used to know me walking with my T-ruler and drawings in my hand all the way to the academy, to Findikli every day. There was the Molla Mosque next to it which is mentioned in my Fethullah Master's poem. I will also tell it when the time comes Insha'Allah. He draws attention to that Mosque. He sort of referred to it. It was next to the academy. I found a space behind the pulpit and used it to store the books that I would be distributing to the people in the academy. I was going to the academy, distributing them. In order not to attract the attention I was putting the books which were flat into fifteen folders. I was distributing them, then returning to the mosque, taking some more and distributing again. Kutlular brother knows it very well. I was constantly going to Yeni Asya and spending my money there. Those who give me advice can make this [example] food for thought for themselves. That is why I am telling it. The knees of my trousers were ripped and I glued it from inside. My mother said: "Your clothes are in a very bad condition. Go and buy a suit for yourself." She gave me some money. I was going but I was not happy. It did not seem reasonable. I went and spent also that money on books. She gave me money again and I spent it on books again. Then my mother ceased to give me money and I was continuing to wear the same trouser with glued, patched knees. You can see it in my photographs. On the cover of Nokta magazine, you can see my knee with a camber. It loosened. I could not give the money, I simply could not spare. They give me advice and that is when I feel astonished. I was spending to my last penny on books. I inherited some money from my aunt, amounting to hundred and forty billion Turkish Lira worth in current money. I spent all of them on books to the last penny. We posted notices on the lunch counters all around Istanbul. We wrote on the counters that books for free were available. We also gave money to the owner of the lunch counter if he rejected to distribute the books. I told them, "Take these and distribute them, I will give you some money." To those who purchased cigarettes and other things. The seller was giving away the book together with the cigarette. We distributed tens of, hundreds of thousands of books. I gave them all my money and made them distribute them. That is why those who give me advice must keep this in mind Insha'Allah. Those asking for help from me must also ask for help according to it. I know where to spend the money. When I have the opportunity Insha'Allah.
