MS. BETUL: In one of your interviews you have said the following; "They [some people] assume that there is a certain person and I insistently demand him to be Hazrat Mahdi(pbuh). And that person would be declared as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) and the matter would thus be closed. That is not the case. Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is the person who will be instrumental in the salvation of the whole world. The real aim is to attain the approval of Allah, His mercy and His Heaven. It is a religious obligation to strive to prevent people going to Hell and to make them see what is right. To call for the Unity of Islam is the greatest religious obligation."  

ADNAN OKTAR: Well, of course.. And they assume that if one comes out as Hazrat Mahdi, I would say "I was hoping that I would be him, now this person came out and claimed to be the Mahdi. People said that he is Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), now that is not okay, they have done wrong, they should correct it." I am giving my word, that Allah is One and I take an oath on the name of Allah. If I do anything on the contrary, let the curse of Allah, Angels and all humans to be upon me. If all the Muslims unanimously- Shias, Sunnis, all Muslims- declare that they attach themselves to a certain individual, if they say that they see that person as Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh), as the leader of the Islamic world, Allah is One and my word is one, I will first kiss his feet, then his hand and I will be his doorman at his disposal. I do not have any such claim or anything. But I do want the Islamic Union. Whoever Hazrat Mahdi (pbuh) is, I will kiss him by his feet and follow his lead. I have no such ambition, I have no such aspiration, no such claim. They should leave such impertinent behavior. There are some similarities when you give the description. What should I do? Should I not talk about him? He has similarities, I have received a few more hadiths, there are some similarities.. Similarities are not enough for claiming to be the Mahdi. Being the Mahdi is an achievement, Allah would bring that person appear before us and Allah will bring Hazrat Mahdi(pbuh) before us in such a way that no one could deny. Hazrat Mahdi's (pbuh) existence would not be open to any kind of discussion. When he is there that is okay, whoever he is, wherever he is, I will kiss his feet and follow his lead. Allah is One, word is one. I take an oath in the name of Allah, I would abide by him so long as the Islamic Union is established. So long as Turkish-Islamic Union is established. Of course.. what difference would it make? Insha'Allah.
