Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar's Live Conversation on A9TV dated January 7th, 2013

GÖRKEM ERDOĞAN: [I seek refuge with Allah from the satan.] "Let there be a community among you who call to the good, and enjoin the right, and forbid the wrong. They are the ones who have success." Surah Al-i Imran, verse 104

ADNAN OKTAR: Almighty Allah says; ".. forbid the wrong" that is "nahy anil munkar, amr bil maroof". Almighty Allah says that there should be Muslims doing this. And the others lay the ground, do the preparations and deal with other needs. That is actually a religious obligation upon all Muslims, but because they cannot be preaching religion altogether, I mean because some of them would have to deal with other necessities, with other matters, Almighty Allah mentions such a division of labor for Muslims. That is how it is with us as well; for instance some of our friends are abroad making money, some of them are dealing with other things, some go and help if there are sick people, people who need help outside and some of them intensely engage in preaching religion. But even those who make money while busy making money, still continue preaching as well. Communicating religion is an obligation upon all Muslims. They all are charged to communicate religion.

GÖRKEM ERDOĞAN: "Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair admonition, and argue with them in the kindest way. Your Lord knows best who is misguided from His way. And He knows best who are guided." Surat An-Nahl, 125

ADNAN OKTAR: Communicating religion is explicitly referred to in this verse, It is apparently seen in all of these verses that communicating religion is a religious obligation. "Call to the way of your Lord with wisdom and fair admonition," says Allah. To whom?  To all Muslims. What is the way of our Lord? It is the Qur'an.  Almighty Allah says; call to the Qur'an with wisdom and fair admonition."

Give this to her so that she can read the rest of it.

DAMLA PAMİR: I seek refuge with Allah from the satan, Surah Al-I Imran, verse 142; "Or did you imagine that you were going to enter the Garden without Allah knowing those among you who had struggled and knowing the steadfast?"

ADNAN OKTAR: That means struggling has been deemed a religious obligation. Where do those who do not do that go to? They go to the Hell. Read the verse once more.

DAMLA PAMİR: Insha'Allah. "Or did you imagine that you were going to enter the Garden without Allah knowing those among you who had struggled and knowing the steadfast?"

ADNAN OKTAR: Struggling, propagating the religion of Allah and preaching is a must to go to the Heaven. The verse is very clear and explicit. Allah says; "You cannot go to Heaven if you do not do this." Since there is no third place, that means such people will go to Hell. It is impossible not to understand. Yes, you continue.

DAMLA PAMİR: Insha'Allah. Surat Al-Hujurat, verse 15; "The Muslims are only those who have had faith in Allah and His Messenger and then have had no doubt and have strived with their wealth and themselves in the Way of Allah. "

ADNAN OKTAR: Muslims strive with their wealth and themselves, they propagate religion and they preach religion.

DAMLA PAMİR: Insha'Allah. "They are the ones who are true to their word."

ADNAN OKTAR: "They are the ones who are true to their word." That means the others are unfaithful,  I mean, the others would then be treacherous and liar. And those who are true to their words are those who perform this beautiful mission. Yes.. Merve you go on, you read these verse.

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: I seek refuge with Allah from the satan; "Do you make the giving of water to the pilgrims and looking after the Masjid al-Haram the same as having faith in Allah and the Last Day and striving in the Way of Allah? They are not equal in the sight of Allah. Allah does not guide wrongdoing people." Surat at-Tawba, 19

ADNAN OKTAR: Allah regards striving in the Way of Allah to be the most superior in the verse. Allah sees it as the most important duty. Almighty Allah says; "There will not be a comparison". Yes, continue.

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "Say: 'If your fathers or your sons or your brothers or your wives or your tribe.."

ADNAN OKTAR: That is marrying, having a family and children..  Yes..

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "Say: 'If your fathers or your sons or your brothers or your wives or your tribe, or any wealth you have acquired, or any business you fear may slump, or any house which pleases you, are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger and doing jihad in His Way.."

ADNAN OKTAR: "..dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger and striving in His Way.." What is His Way? It is the Way of the Qur'an. "If it is dearer to you than striving in the Way of Islam, than spreading Islam," says Allah. Yes..

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: ".. then wait until Allah brings about His command."

ADNAN OKTAR: That means "wait until Allah sends a scourge on you," says Allah. Yes..

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "..Allah does not guide people who are deviators." [Surat at-Tawba-24]

ADNAN OKTAR: Yes. Let us continue.

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "..Strive in the way of Allah with a service worthy of Him. He has chosen you and laid no hardship on you in the way of faith."

ADNAN OKTAR: Strive in the way of Allah with a service worthy of Him. Spread the religion of Allah. Yes..

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "The faith of your forbear Abraham. He named you Muslim earlier, and in this (Qur'an), in order that the Prophet be witness over you, and you be witness over mankind. So be firm in devotion, pay the zakat, and hold on firmly to God. He is your friend: How excellent a friend is He, how excellent a helper!" Surat al-Hajj, 78,

ADNAN OKTAR: Masha'Allah.  Yes..

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "The men and women of the Muslims are friends of one another. They command what is right and forbid what is wrong.."

ADNAN OKTAR: So what do Muslims do? What is it that Muslims do? Read it once more.

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "The men and women of the Muslims are friends of one another. They command what is right and forbid what is wrong"

ADNAN OKTAR: So they communicate religion. "Amr bil Maroof Nahy anil Munkar" [ commanding what is right and forbidding what is wrong]  Allah says; "this is the characteristic of a Muslim."  Almighty Allah says; "I call those people Muslims, those people with that characteristic."  Amr bil maroof and nahy anil munkar, that means those who preach religion, those who spread Islam and the Qur'an.

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK : "..and establish salat and pay zakat, and obey Allah and His Messenger. They are the people on whom Allah will have mercy. Allah is Almighty, All-Wise." Surat at-Tawba, 71

ADNAN OKTAR: Look, Allah talks about acts that are religious obligations; they establish salat, they pay zakat." Allah does not say anything about the head scarf. Allah does not say headscarves, but Allah refers to Hijab. And because it does not serve your interests, you do not mention hijab. That is very meaningful, that is a very big matter and it is very surprising. I never hear them talk about hijab. We constantly hear headscarves. But they never talk about hijab. That is a very weird thing. They feel that hard on their ego.  For instance our Master Mahmut, he is a very open person and very sincere. What is mentioned in the Qur'an is hijab, not headscarves. And that is clear. Have you ever heard Master Mahmut say something about headscarf? He always talks about hijab.  Yes..

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "Whoever strives, does it entirely for himself. Allah is Rich Beyond Need of any being." Surat al-Ankabut, 6

ADNAN OKTAR: The verse states that Almighty Allah does not need our striving. It is a religious obligation on us, but He does not need it. Yet, Allah says; "I will plague you if you don't."  Yes..

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "As for those who strive in Our Way, We will guide them to Our Paths."

ADNAN OKTAR: For those who strive in Allah's Way, to those who spread Islam, Almighty Allah says; "We will guide them to Our Paths." What does Almighty Allah do?  Allah gives them money, He gives them means, He gives them people to help, He gives them books, "so long as you show an effort, so long as you strive to spread Islam," says Almighty Allah.

MERVE BÜYÜKBAYRAK: "Truly Allah is with the good-doers." Surat al-Ankabut, 69

ADNAN OKTAR: What does Allah bless them with? Allah bless them with their life, with their youth, with money, with goods and possession and widespread Islam. That is the characteristic of a Muslim.

Almond candy, you read this

GÜLŞAH GÜÇYETMEZ: Insha'Allah Master. Surat Al-Maidah, 35. I seek refuge with Allah from the satan; "You who have faith! have taqwa of Allah and seek the means of drawing near to Him, and strive in His Way, so that hopefully you will be successful.”

ADNAN OKTAR: What is the characteristic of a Muslim? Muslims strive in the Way of Allah. What does striving in the Way of Allah mean? It doesn't mean sitting back and laying around.

GÜLŞAH GÜÇYETMEZ: "March forth light and heavy and strive hard with your riches and your lives in the Way of Allah; that is the best for you, if you have knowledge." [Surat at-Tawba, 41]

ADNAN OKTAR : ".. with your riches and your lives," says Allah. What does light and heavy mean? What is it that we equip ourselves with in our time?  Books, CD's, documentaries, so you will go with them and communicate religion. This is what striving mean. "Strive hard.."

GÜLŞAH GÜÇYETMEZ: Surat An-Nahl, verse 110; "And your Lord is to those who emigrated after they were persecuted, then they strived and were patient; your Lord after that is Forgiving, Merciful."

ADNAN OKTAR: So that means Muslims are persecuted, they suffer ordeals and pain but they strive.. Even if they are tortured, they do not give up striving. They continue communicating religion. Striving means, showing an effort, spreading Islam and that is a characteristic of a Muslim. Look, how many verses we've read here. Our brothers with a bigoted mindset plead ignorance about these verses, as they do not serve their purposes.  Our Prophet strived and the matter was closed [according to their mindset]. Yes..

GÜLŞAH GÜÇYETMEZ: Surat At-Tahrim, verse 9; "O Prophet! Strive hard against the Unbelievers and the Hypocrites, and be firm against them. Their abode is Hell,- an evil refuge (indeed)."

ADNAN OKTAR: Strive hard against hypocrites and be firm against them. They do not act lax. Being firm against them of course does not come to mean smashing their head. It means a determined and strong struggle. And what is that in our age? Book, CD's, documentaries, everything can do. Almighty Allah talks about a very strong and very determined struggle. I mean one that is undaunted and determined.Insha'Allah. Yes..

GÜLŞAH GÜÇYETMEZ: Surat As-Saff, verse 11;" It is to have faith in Allah and His Messenger and strive in the Way of Allah with your wealth and your selves. That is better for you if you only knew. "

ADNAN OKTAR: Striving in the Way of Allah is one of the most important duties of a Muslim. And again, this verse too deems striving in the Way of Allah and spreading Islam a religious obligation. Yes..
