Explanations of verses from  Surat Al-An'am by Mr. Adnan Oktar

Surat Al-An'am; Verse 65

Say: "He possesses the power to send you punishment from above your heads or from beneath your feet, or to confuse you in sects and make you taste one another's violence." Look how We vary the Signs so that hopefully they will understand.

Say: "He possesses the power to send you punishment from above your heads or from beneath your feet, or to confuse you in sects and make you taste one another's violence."   Now there are some accusations brought about Israel all over the world, but God explains to us the rule here.  And He says; "Say: ´He possesses the power to send you punishment from above your heads or from beneath your feet… "A bomb drops down from above their heads or the building collapses from beneath their feet.  A grave disaster comes upon them as the result of the collapse of the building. "...or to confuse you in sects and make you taste one another's violence" What is going on in Syria right now?  Muslims are tasting one another's violence. Who is the One that makes them do that? God. "He possesses the power to make you taste one another's violence." In Iraq, in Afghanistan, Muslims all taste one another's violence.  God says that He is the One Who creates that violence.  "Look, how We vary the Signs so that hopefully they will understand," says God.  God wants to make Himself thought about. He wants people to get close to Him and make Islam prevail in the world. God warns those people who are indifferent, who are reluctant and who act far-out by creating violence. He catches their attention by making use of violence, by hardships and by pain. Otherwise, people might get into a state of indolence, laziness and apathy.  But in such violent incidents, a sharp awakening takes place. That is why Bediuzzaman says; "...the great urge to protect Islam will rejoice." And he says; "Mahdi will take the lead and lead the ummah to the true path and the truth."

Surat Al-An'am; Verse 66

"Your people deny it and yet it is the Truth. Say: ´I am not here as your guardian."

By saying "Your people," Almighty God means Muslims: All of them. "Your people deny it and yet it is the Truth." While the Qur'an is enough, as the Truth, they regarded the Qur'an as insufficient, says God. "Say; I am not here as your guardian."  Meaning my task here is to tell you about the Truth but when a scourge comes upon you, you are the ones responsible of that.

Surat Al-An'am: Verse 67

"Every communication has its time and you will certainly come to know."

"Every communication…" For instance, the news about Syria. There is a time for that as well. What is the time for that? For instance, one day you get up and see that the  time for that news has come.  They say; "There has been an explosion in Syria." They say "Syria has turned into a bloodbath." They say; "This and that happened in Iraq." or for instance, this and that happened in elsewhere.  The verse reads; "Every communication has its time and you will certainly come to know." We should never forget about this verse while reading about these stories. The time has come so God presented us that communication. For instance, some other things will happen tomorrow and we will read about that news as well. There will be some other news in the day after. We will hear about them, there will be many other incidents and we will hear about that news as well. But God says; "I am the One creating this news. I create all these television and radio reports, newspaper reports; I am the One creating all communications. And for all those incidents there is a time I have determined. When that time comes, you will be hearing about them."

Surat Al-An'am; Verse 68

When you see people engrossed in mockery of Our Signs, turn from them until they start to talk of other things. And if satan should ever cause you to forget, once you remember, do not stay sitting with the wrongdoers.

God says  even if you forget in the beginning, when reminded, do not stay with those who talk against the Qur'an. Do not sit with them and do not listen to them. If there is such an environment, if there is such a gathering, it would not be right for you to sit there and listen to them speak, says God in the verse. That is because they are talking against the Qur'an.

Surat Al-An'am, Verse 70

Abandon those who have turned their religion into a game and a diversion and who have been deluded by the life of this world. Remind by it lest a person is delivered up to destruction for what he has earned with no protector or intercessor besides God. Were he to offer every kind of compensation, it would not be accepted from him. Such people are delivered up to destruction for what they have earned. They will have scalding water to drink and a painful punishment because they were unbelievers.

Abandon those who have turned their religion into a game and a diversion and who have been deluded by the life of this world. For instance, look at some of the hodjas working in mosques, some religious people, some scholars when they make a house visit, you can test it if you like.  If you listen to their conversations or their television conversations, listen to their private conversations, you would see that they are making speeches that mock religion. They either mock Heaven, or Hell, or angels in their own minds; you have seen many examples of this on TV channels. You see people laughing hard at them. And you see that they are consumed in the life of this world with the feeling of haughtiness. They have a feeling of haughtiness and fame because they think that they have fame, they feel proud of themselves when their names are heard here and there. In fact they will be dead in a while. They will be all    their graves. Neither their fame, nor their haughtiness is left behind. Not even their bones will remain. Everything they have will melt away. "Remind by it [the Qur'an] lest a person is delivered up to destruction for what he has earned with no protector or intercessor besides God" So what are we supposed to remind them with? The Qur'an. Not superstitions; a Muslim should never approach  any superstitions, or else they will be delivered up to destruction for what they have earned, because of their abnormal acts. Meaning they will thus be ruining their lives both in this world, and in the Hereafter.
