(In response to an audience viewer who asked a question about  interfaith dialogue)

You can participate in the discourse of a Christian. You can welcome him, speak to him. He explains his views and so you do. This is a dialogue. But what is the point of calling it a dialogue? I become irritated at that word. You can converse with them, befriend them, show compassion and listen to their views and in return you can also talk about your own. He can talk about Christianty and you can talk about Islam. You can explain the beautiful Islam and point out what is common in Christianity and Islam. We can make effort to struggle  against irreligion and say that we should unite in the “Oneness of Allah”, “Love for the prophets”, “Faith in the Hereafter”, and in making a struggle against Darwinism and materialism. So there is no need for that word. There is nothing wrong about it, it is something beneficial. This is also known through the verses of the Qur’an. In the Qur’an Allah wants us to employ a “beautiful style” while talking to them. What does this mean? This simply refers to the “dialogue”. This is the explicit meaning of “dialogue”. Allah wants us to speak to them, to converse with them and to behave good to them. Allah says that we can marry them, eat the food they cook. They can come into our homes and so we can go their homes. We can invite them to our meals. So we can be friends. Allah relates  this to us in the Qur’an. There are some people who harbor doubts about anything. They embace a policy of hatred,  assuming that if Christians are granted freedom then the same freedom will be granted to Muslims. Those who hate Christianity also hate Islam and Judaisim. They come to a state of mind that only loves communism. That is to say, it is the first step to attack Islam; they implement it as a first step. Why would we be enemies to Christians? They are the People of the Book. In the Qur’an, Allah states that the closest to Muslims are the Christians.

I several times stated that I am not a hafiz (someone who has memorized the entirety of the Qur'an). People ask why I am not a hafiz? I do not know the Qur’an by heart. We can open the Book and look it up or we can read it on the computer. This would be solid and we can also show them the verses. A person may make a mistake when he knows by heart, but reading allows no room for any mistakes. This has nothing to do with being a scholar. Memorizing the Qur’an does not mean scholarship. Being a scholar is something different. Memorizing the Qur’an is beautiful, but it is enough for a particular group of people to be hafiz. There is not a provision about being a hafiz in the Qur’an. Allah does not ask us to memorize the Qur’an. He wants us to abide by the Qur’an. We read the Qur’an and abide by the provisions of the Qur’an inshaAllah.

(In response to an audience member who said that Alawites are being externalized)

Being an Alawite means loving Hazrat Ali and being a man of love. Having love for everytihng Allah loves. Having love for Allah, for our Prophet (saas) and the Ahl Al-Bayt. It means “exuberance”.

Alawites love animals, plants and everything. They are all brave people, they are stout-hearted people. Those who say otherwise say something stupid. They are the base, hypocriticaland bigoted lot. They are already loveless, baseless people. They already love no one, let alone Alawites. They even hate their own people, they hate one another.
