What He Said?What Happened?

February 23rd, 2014: A9 TV

(The youngest Prime Minister of Italy (39) is announcing the council of ministers. It is important that 8 out of 16 ministers are women.)

ADNAN OKTAR: This is very nice. Italians are fine in that way. Women are free, beautiful and groomed. They love art and they are indeed very talented in art. They have a very good spirit. This is what we want to achieve in Turkey. If there is no art, aesthetics, quality or beauty, build as many bridges, road as you want, it would not matter. There must be art, aesthetics, faith, joy, fear of Allah, love of Allah everywhere.

A9 TV: January 23rd, 2014

ADNAN OKTAR: The level of freedom in a country is measured in the level of freedom offered to women. Look at the status of women and understand whether there is freedom or not. Done. Otherwise other traits of that regime would not matter. It’s finished. But if women are free, it’s okay. There will be women who prefer low-neck dresses, who do not cover their hair, who prefer the veil or burka; there will be all types of women. Those who wear bikinis or burkas; we must show respect to all. We must see all of them as important one hundred percent.

Haberler.com web site, Excerpt from Mr. Adnan Oktar’s Conversation

ADNAN OKTAR: This is what we would like from Mr. Tayyip. He must place importance on art and music.

He has taken necessary steps about the problems faced by women who cover their hair. He will take the necessary steps about bigotry also. He must give women who prefer low-neck clothes prominence.

A9 TV: June 21st, 2013

ADNAN OKTAR:  One should cover her hair or wear low-neck clothes. It would be wrong to project an image like there is a dominance of people who cover their hair or who prefer low-neck clothes. One should be able to live as one wishes. Religion develops very comfortably in such an environment. Pressure would cause a lack of balance.

June 22nd, 2013: A9 TV

ADNAN OKTAR: My advice to Mr. Tayyip is to show his support for modernity, a modern way of live and modern people. I think it would be very good, because all of Europe is modern, America is modern and the whole would loves modernity. Even in Pakistan, people love modernity. They are a conservative community but even they look for a modern Prime Minister. Of course, even in Iran they look for a modern person and they elect a reformer. Even bigots love modernity. They appear like they are against it, but actually they like it.

Modernity gives joy and it is nice. A classical right-wing approach out of the 1940ss would not suit the world. It would bore people. It is a model that pressures people. They need love, joy and compassion. They need joy.

A9 TV: June 8th, 2013

ADNAN OKTAR: Real modernity is to achieve a society that is full of love. Not a cold, grey society but a joyful, quality and full-of-life. The government’s target must be this.

A9 TV: March 22nd, 2014

ADNAN OKTAR:  Mr. Tayyip is a person who shows with his own life that he is against a bigoted perspective on Islam. Both his wife and he are modern. But they can only show this much due to the pressure of bigots. Otherwise he is a person who is open-minded about arts and freedoms, and who wants a sparkling life and all the facilities he opened are very modern. He uses all the means provided by science. He wants science to advance as much as possible.

Mr. Adnan Oktar often states that politicians must always act together with the public and have to be extroverted and advises that they be people that reflect Turkey’s quality. In addition, he states that our government must have a modern appearance in every way.

Following Mr. Adnan Oktar’s statements, Prime Minister Erdoğan and some government officials have demonstrated behaviors that will invalidate the claims of some critics and that show their respect toward women who do not prefer to cover their hair. Lastly Mr. Erdogan has taken a photo with them.
